Helpful Tips: 

  • Bring cash for parking, bike corrals, and the festival  
  • Arrive early and plan to spend the day in Boulder  
  • Identify your preferred viewing location, and be flexible
  • Dress for changing weather
  • Bring water and wear comfortable shoes
  • Enjoy local businesses and the festival before and during the race
  • Map your route in advance and be aware of periodic road closures (see here)

Logistics and Planning for stage 6:

  • Stage 6 is 103 miles
  • Race begins in Golden at 11:10 a.m. and heads down Hwy. 93 towards Boulder
  • Race course will make two passes through Downtown Boulder. First pass is a qualifying sprint. Second pass the cyclist will be more spread out (More)
  • Finish line and ceremony is scheduled to be held at Sunrise Amphitheatre on top of Flagstaff Mountain
  • Fastest finish time is expected at 2:41 p.m. MTD (all times are approximate)
  • The Boulder Farmer's Market will be held on Sunday, August 26, instead of the normal Saturday Market due to the race
  • The Main Boulder Public Library will be closed on Saturday, August 25 and will resume normal business hours on Sunday, August 26

Downtown Expo Activities and Information: 

  • Printable Map
  • A finish festival will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on the day of race
  • Pearl Street will be closed (but businesses will be open) from 15th - 20th streets to alleyways for the designated beer garden - this fencing will not block merchants store fronts. No alcohol will be allowed into any Pearl Street Mall merchants - all alcohol must remain within beer garden fencing
  • New Belgium is the beer sponsor 
  • JumboTrons will be set up on Pearl Street (end of 15th & 20th streets) for race viewing (where the beer garden fencing ends)

​Parking and Road Closures:

  • Check USAProBoulder.com for up-to-date parking and transportation information (including: closures, payment, alternative transportation, etc.)  
  • City of Boulder parking garages and surface parking lots will charge $30 to park - no exceptions, no monthly permits, no free parking. Prices for private lost vary
  • University of Colorado will be offering forms of parking. Please contact the University of Colorado for further details
  • Alternative means of transportation is encouraged - take RTD, ride bike, use B Cycle, or walk

  • There will be a bike corrals located close to downtown at Boulder High School. It will be open from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and will cost $2 cash/bike
  • Street closures will be periodic
  • *Most open space trails on Flagstaff Mountain will be closed during the race
