Happy National Taco Day!

Category: Boulder Blog

Have you heard? Today, October 4th, is National Taco Day!

What better day to learn about all the incredible places to enjoy tacos downtown?

Let’s get into it!

Starting off strong is the incredible T/ACO! As Boulder’s oldest taqueria, this well-loved spot downtown has become known for flavorful street-style tacos! They mill their own organic corn to create delicious tortillas for their unique style of tacos. Not to mention, all of their tacos are 100% gluten-free.

In need of a quick bite? With loaded burritos, bowls, nachos, quesadillas, queso, salads and more, Illegal Pete’s is the place to go! They also keep a full bar with a wide selection of local craft beer to enjoy with your meal. Be sure to head over for their Happy Hour daily from 3 pm-6 pm.

Head over to Bartaco for some of the best tacos you can find downtown. Inspired by the beach culture of Brazil, Uruguay, and Southern California, Bartaco offers upscale street food, specialty cocktails and deliciously crafted beers.

Leaf Vegetarian Restaurant is for all types of eaters….vegans and carnivores alike! With a creative menu that features dishes like buffalo cauliflower tacos and jackfruit enchiladas, everyone can find something new and delicious to treat their taste buds. Enjoy your meal with one of their specialty cocktails like the Belltower (Opal Spanish gin, Exotico tequila, génépy, lime, bell pepper) or Strawberry Fields (strawberry and cardamom infused Wodka vodka, amaretto, lavender, lemon).

Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant is the perfect spot to sit back and enjoy a fall evening (and a few margaritas) on their rooftop patio! They offer delicious fajitas, burritos, tacos, quesadillas, tostadas and more! Be sure to try out their hand-crafted cocktails and margaritas. You’ve got to try their limited edition Birria Taco! For all CU students, be sure to check out their College Nights every Thursday with awesome specials from 9  p.m. to 11 p.m.!

Centro Mexican Kitchen celebrates the delicious and inspired flavors of Mexico with regional drinks and warm hospitality. Need a good happy hour deal this weekend? Cento is offering $4 margaritas with free chips and salsa from 4-5 p.m. For more amazing happy hour specials, check out our list of downtown happy hours

My Neighbor Felix’s is a pan-Mexican kitchen with cuisine inspired by all seven regions of Mexico! With numerous, delicious taco options, they’ve got something for everyone. Check out My Neighbor Felix’s Buff Brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. With $13 delicious brunch entrees and a $30 mimosa tower, My Neighbor Felix is ready to cater your weekend brunch plans.

Introducing the new kid on the block, Masas & Agave! They have curated an authentic menu that showcases the diverse and unforgettable flavors of Oaxaca, Mexico. From traditional moles and tlayudas to mouthwatering tacos and refreshing ceviches, they offer a wide variety of culinary offerings that capture the essence of Oaxacan gastronomy.

That's all for now! I hope you enjoy all the delicious taco options downtown!

More to come,

Rebecca
