SALT’s Adrian Sutevski Named Boulder's Best Mixologist 2012
Sutevski’s ‘Sunfire’ cocktail was a crowd favorite followed closely by Anthony Hinojos' (Hapa Sushi) 'Bermuda Shipwreck' and Greg Van Wagner's (OAK at Fourteenth) cocktail
Boulder, Colo. (March 12, 2012): This past Sunday (March 11), eight downtown Boulder mixologists (representing Aji, Hapa Sushi, The Kitchen, OAK at Fourteenth, the Pinyon, Riff’s Urban Fare, SALT & West End Tavern) and over 150 cocktail aficionados gathered at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) for the second annual Boulder’s Best Mixologist contest.
Competing head-to-head for audience votes, the mixologists prepared eight innovative cocktails which included liquor from presenting sponsor, 303 Vodka. At the end of the event, audience votes were tallied and SALT’s Adrian Sutevski was victorious.
“I felt that a balanced, refreshing, approachable cocktail would win the crowd,” said Sutevski . Using Blood Orange/Rosemary infused 303 Vodka, fresh squeezed lime juice, agave nectar & soda, Sutevski’s ‘Sunfire’ seemed to be the perfect blend creating the winning cocktail and giving him the honor of being named Boulder’s Best Mixologist 2012. In addition to bragging rights, Sutevski received the custom designed Kidrobot Mega Munny trophy which will be displayed at SALT until next year’s competition.
“This was a great event to showcase downtown’s cocktail scene while highlighting the restaurants at the same time,” said Anna Salim, event director with Downtown Boulder, Inc. The event’s co-producer, Randi Curtis added, “Very excited to see so many people come out yesterday to support the event. Boulder's Best Mixologist does have one winner, but this event showcases how many talented mixologists we have in our community. Congratulations to Adrian and thank you Boulder!”
Each participating mixologist shared their cocktail creation and recipes are available online at BouldersBestMixologist.com. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to BMoCA.
