Downtown Boulder Holiday Events


Downtown Boulder offers a number of festive events throughout the holiday season. Bring the family downtown to celebrate the holidays in downtown Boulder. Information for the 2021 season can be found below!

Sunday, November 21 | 5 pm

Help us kick off the holiday season as we flip the switch that illuminates lights along the Pearl Street Mall, Civic Area and around the Boulder County Courthouse during Switch on the Holidays! Then stick around for FREE outdoor visits with Santa until 7:00 pm.

Friday, November 26 and Saturdays November 27 - December 18 | 11 am - 2 pm

Kids of all ages can visit with Santa for FREE outside on the 1300 Block of the Pearl Street Mall. Bring your list and a camera to capture priceless holiday memories.  While you wait, you can also take a FREE ride on the 100% Electric Tebo Train aka Snowflake Express. Children ages 10 and under (along with accompanying adults) will chug along Pearl Street in this one-of-a-kind experience.

 

 

Snow Much FunLights at the Boulder Bandshell for the holidays

Fridays, December 3, 10 and 17 | 5 - 7 pm

Take in the sights and lights throughout downtown Boulder and the Civic Area this season with beautiful lighting displays. The Civic Area will feature over 275,000 LED lights and you can explore colorful displays from the “Let It Snow Playground” at the Boulder Public Library to the “Candy Cane Forest” at the Glen Huntington Bandshell. You can also enjoy warm refreshments, seasonal caroling, free train rides around the park, and self-guided tours each Friday, Dec. 3, 10, and 17 from 5 - 7 pm in the Civic Plaza next to the Dushanbe TeahouseSnow Much Fun events produced by the City of Boulder Parks & Recreation department.

Saturday, December 4 | 6 pm

Spectators are invited to enjoy floats created and decorated by local businesses, churches, schools, community groups and nonprofits. The grand finale includes an appearance by the jolly old man himself - Santa Claus!

Saturday, December 11 | 11 am - 4 pm

A celebration of winter and all things snowmen! This snowman extravaganza includes train rides, visits with Santa and free Reindeer Games (crafts and other activities) for all!

Plus, play Find Freezie Bingo (November 26 - December 11) and turn in your completed Bingo card during Freezie Fest for a free mini-snowman and a chance to win a $25 Downtown Boulder gift card.
