Hello downtown!

It feels a little surreal writing this, but as my time with Downtown Boulder Partnership comes to an end, I can’t help but reflect on how meaningful this experience has been for me. Not just professionally, but personally too.

When I first started this internship, I was excited, a little nervous, and honestly not exactly sure what to expect. What I found was a team that was incredibly welcoming, supportive, and passionate about this community. From day one, I felt like I was learning not just how to write and create content, but how to truly capture the energy of a place and the people in it.

Over the past few months, I’ve had the chance to highlight local businesses, promote events, and create projects like the Wellness Trail, which is something I’m especially proud of. Experiencing downtown through this lens gave me a deeper appreciation for everything Boulder has to offer, as well as the care and intention that goes into keeping it such a welcoming and beautiful place.

As I get ready to graduate, it’s hard not to think about how much I’ve grown during my time here. This internship pushed me to become a more confident writer, a more thoughtful communicator, and someone who pays attention to the little details that make a story (or place) feel special. It also reminded me how much I value community, creativity, and work that feels meaningful.

Coming to Colorado, I never expected it to feel like home in the way that it does now. Boulder has become such a special place to me, somewhere that has shaped my college experience and has given me so many moments I will always look back on fondly. Being able to spend my final semester working with an organization that is so deeply connected to this community made it all the more meaningful.

While this chapter is coming to a close, I am so glad my time in Colorado isn’t. I’ll be staying here after graduation, and I truly can’t wait to see what this next chapter brings. It feels really special knowing that the place that has given me so much over the past few years will continue to be a part of my story.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned during my time here, it’s to slow down and really take in everything downtown Boulder has to offer, whether that’s discovering a new favorite spot, spending time outside, or just enjoying the energy of downtown on a sunny day. If you find yourself downtown, I hope you take a moment to do the same.

See you around downtown Boulder,

Ava
