Good Day Downtown Boulder!
Downtown after dark is my favorite time. When the patio lights go on and seats fill up with familiar faces, I know it’s my time to venture out and hit the town.
Mountain Sun is always my first stop. My first reason: no cover! As a college student with limited career opportunities (fancy words for unemployed) not having to pay to get in is a must for me! Not to mention the live music. Fridays in October are the ideal way to begin the night. No cover, no stress. Simply amazing music, fantastic beer, and even better pub fries! Go inside and grab a table. If you're lucky, you'll be served by my wonderful friend Cutler, who will chat your ear off. Quick shoutout to the Goldmans for joining me this past Friday night to jam out!
When the night is starting to heat up, move on over to Rosetta Hall, which transforms into a dance floor after dark. It’s usually where I end up dancing the night away (and sweating). They always have great music and their $10 drink combo is right up my frugal alley.
If I am being honest, my nights usually end somewhere in between The Attic Bar and Bistro and Sundown Saloon (AKA the Downer). There is nothing like foosball, pool tables and darts to cap the night. Grab a classic Fat Albert or a crucial $9 PBR pitcher that somehow always tastes like victory when you're on a budget.
Pro tip about downtown night life, you MUST grab a bratwurst from Freddie’s Hot Dog Stand at the end of your night. Endless toppings and a steaming hot dog are my favorite tradition at this point.
At the end of the day… or should I say middle of the night, it’s not about where you go but who you end up with. Grab a friend or a partner and head to explore all the fun bars downtown. I am super pumped to try C Bar and Press Play next!
