Hello downtown!

Category: Boulder Blog

What’s up downtown!

My name is Wylie McBride, and I’m excited to be this summer’s Marketing and Communications Intern at the Downtown Boulder Partnership! I'm excited to take you along with me on this journey as we explore the ins and outs of downtown together.

A little about me - I’ve had the pleasure of calling Colorado home my whole life, growing up only 45 minutes south of Boulder in Littleton. From an early age, I’ve been captivated by Boulder’s beauty - from the Flatirons to the downtown district, and much of what this place has to offer. Most notably, the CU Buff spirit, thanks to my dad, who graduated from CU, and hoped with all of his might that at least one of his kids would carry on the family legacy here at CU.

This coming fall, I’ll begin my senior year as a Buff, working towards my degree in Media Studies, along with a minor in history, sports media, and business. In my free time, I spend time helping run the CU women’s club soccer program (one of, if not the largest collegiate women’s club soccer program in the nation!), and I look forward to my role as the club’s Vice President this fall, with the goal of winning nationals!

Outside of school and soccer, I spend my weekends day tripping to the mountains with my friends, and sitting in I70 traffic! I think this past winter I did an adequate job, ending the season with forty days on the dot. My favorite destinations to ski at are Winter Park’s Mary Jane (best moguls around) and Copper’s awesome back bowls.

I’m excited for this opportunity to bring more local love to downtown this summer, so follow along as I immerse myself in the beauty of it all!

See you around Downtown,

- Wylie
