Kate’s gluten-free guide!

Hi all! As a gluten-free girl myself, I have tried many different restaurants and dishes over my time here in Boulder. Downtown has tons of gluten-free options, so there's something for everyone. In this blog, I’m sharing my top restaurant picks and some of my favorite dishes!

Starting off with the most important meal of the day…breakfast! My favorite spot is Jill's Restaurant & Bistro. They offer a diverse range of breakfast options catering to both sweet and savory preferences. Personally I enjoy a savory breakfast and always go for Jill's Any Style. This allows me to choose eggs prepared to my liking, a side of gluten-free toast, along with a selection of meat and potatoes. With such a variety it's a perfect meal for anyone.

After a leisurely stroll through some shops downtown, it's time to grab lunch. I head over to Pearl Street’s West End and always make a stop at The Kitchen for a meal that I know won't disappoint. I usually kick things off with their Black Caesar—a delicious black kale salad dressed with Caesar dressing, topped with black trout and gluten-free breadcrumbs. For my main course, I love their cheeseburger on a gluten-free bun, with their crispy gluten-free french fries. Guaranteed to be amazing.

Whenever I’m craving sushi, I head to Japango. When I come here, I can't resist starting with their gluten-free Miso soup and edamame. After enjoying these appetizers, I dive into their sushi selection, always choosing the California Roll and the New Orleans Roll, both gluten-free friendly and obviously paired with a side of Tamari (gluten-free soy sauce).

I can never resist a sweet treat! I love heading over to either the East or West End and enjoying Gelato Boy. It’s hard to choose a flavor from their large list of options. My favorite at the moment is the Salted Cookies and Cream. Gelato Boy is the perfect way to end any night.

Whether you're gluten-free or not, I highly recommend checking out these fantastic spots. Who knows, maybe I'll see you there!

Bon Appétit,

Intern Kate
