Whatever the Weather

Category: Boulder Blog

Hey downtown!

Boulder's weather certainly keeps us on our toes. If you're feeling a little weather-weary, you're not alone! There's still so much to enjoy downtown, regardless of the forecast. Let's turn those rainy or snowy days into opportunities for new experiences. Here are some activities that are available to you downtown through rain, snow, or shine...

Taste of Pearl is finally happening this weekend, Sunday, April 6th from 2 to 6 PM. Stroll through participating downtown shops and art galleries while enjoying tasty bites paired with sweet sips, all while exploring event-exclusive specials at an array of art galleries and boutiques. It’s the perfect way to keep yourself busy no matter what the weather will look like that day. Tickets are limited, so make sure to buy yours now for a lovely Sunday afternoon full of food, drinks, shopping and fun!

The Boulder Farmers Market is one of my favorite ways to turn the day around and its 2025 season kicks off this Saturday, April 5th. Every Saturday (through November 22nd), from 8 AM to 2 PM, local farmers, ranchers, and vendors gather on 13th Street (between Arapahoe Avenue & Canyon Boulevard) to bring the community fresh goodies. I am so excited for the farmers market season to start up again, you should check it out too!

Taking a cooking class on a rainy day is not only a learning experience, but a tasty one! Food Lab offers a wide variety of classes to help you amp up your game in the kitchen. From ravioli workshops to Japanese small plates, you can learn how to cook just about anything. Check out their classes the next time the weather isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, you’ll walk away with a smile and a new recipe to cook at home.

Crafts on a snowy day sounds like the perfect plan. Watch the snow fall while creating a new piece of pottery for your home at Color Me Mine. Tap into your creative side and use the day to explore a new hobby. I love heading over to make a new mug to add to my collection, maybe I’ll make a snow-themed one next to commemorate the day!

When it’s cold outside, all I want to do is cuddle up with a book and a warm drink. Lucky for me, Trident can help me out with that! Stopping in for a book to pick up or sitting down and enjoying the atmosphere with a tea, it just screams rainy or snowy day activity to me.

I hope this gives you some inspiration for making the most of those less-than-perfect weather days in downtown Boulder. It's amazing how much joy you can find in a rainy day cooking class, a snowy afternoon of pottery or a quiet moment with a book. Here's to finding beauty and fun in every season!

See you soon downtown,

Frankie
