Celebrate the opening of A Century of Collecting: Stories from Our Vault at the Museum of Boulder!
What does it take to care for a legacy? A Century of Collecting pulls back the curtain on the literal and figurative core of the Museum, offering a rare look at the vibrant, complicated, and sometimes hazardous world of collections management - and how we preserve and protect more than 45,000 objects in our care.
Featuring many objects spanning eras, styles, and stories, the exhibition includes highlights from the Museum’s award-winning Phyllis Plehaty Costume Collection, artwork by “Rocky Mountain Joe,” and an eclectic collection of vintage saddles, chairs, typewriters, computers, quilts, and many more.
Join us on Tuesday, September 1 from 5:30–8:00 PM for an evening celebrating a century of collecting and preserving Boulder’s history, complete with 1920s-inspired cocktails and wine.
5:30–6:30 PM | Members-Only Reception
Museum members are invited to enjoy an exclusive first hour of the celebration and will receive one complimentary cocktail or beverage with admission.
6:30–8:00 PM | General Admission
Tickets: $20 General Admission | $10 Museum Members
A Century of Collecting: Stories from Our Vault is on view August 22, 2026–January 3, 2027.
