Join Whittier Elementary School for its annual Around the World celebration on Thursday, April 30, from 5:00-6:30 PM at Whittier Elementary School.

This free community event is a chance to experience one of Boulder’s most unique and globally minded schools. Families from more than 30 countries come together at Whittier, creating a truly diverse and inclusive learning environment where students build empathy, cultural awareness, and real-world understanding every day.

Guests will enjoy live performances by Grupo Mexica Tlahuitzcalli Aztec Dancing and Mi Chantili Breakdancing, along with delicious offerings from Los Dos Bros food trucks and the Sweet Cow ice cream truck. Families will also host interactive tables showcasing cultural projects representing countries and traditions from around the world.

Whittier is also home to the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which emphasizes inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, collaboration, and global awareness, skills essential for today’s students.

As Boulder’s last remaining downtown elementary school and Colorado’s longest continuously operating school, Whittier offers a vibrant, walkable community that supports both students and the surrounding neighborhood.
