As a part of our Beethoven Festival, Boulder Symphony is proud to present a piano trio concert comprised of faculty from the University of Colorado Boulder. Featuring pianist David Korevaar, violinist Andrea Segar, and cellist Meta Weiss, the distinguished trio will explore the output of the composer from the end of his middle “Heroic” period to his late period through the “Archduke” Trio and the iconic “Hammerklavier” Sonata. Both works were dedicated to Beethoven’s friend and patron, the Archduke Rudolph, and have since solidified their status in the classical canon. The “Hammerklavier” in particular has earned a reputation for its technically and emotionally demanding nature, and there are few who can rise to meet that challenge like David Korevaar. With three of the best around, Beethoven: Dedications promises to be a concert both grand in its scale and intimate in its setting. Music lovers shouldn’t miss this performance on April 13 at 7:00 PM in Grace Commons.
