Blvck Hippie's debut Colorado show at Trident Cafe in Boulder, CO! Blvck Hippie makes VHS inspired Indie Rock for anyone who's ever felt like an outsider. Fresh off their SXSW and Treefort performances, lead guitar and vocalist Josh Shaw is joined onstage by Casey Rittinger on drums, Celest Farmer on guitar, and Tyrell Williams on bass. If You Feel Alone at Parties is a brutally honest and heart wrenching look into the mind and heart of Josh Shaw. Hitting the stage with raw energy and authenticity, the band’s live performance brings you along for an emotionally electrifying experience that’ll remind you exactly why you’ve missed shows so much. Blvck Hippie is recommended if “you’re a fan of The Strokes but like your songs a little more moody” (from The Strait). Shaw credits Kanye West and Kid Cudi for inspiring him as a Black artist, pushing him to always make something different. Blvck Hippie’s “VHS” inspired rock pairs with Shaw’s dark, brooding lyrics, drawing on themes of escapism, loneliness, and grief to create the Sad Boy Indie Rock songs of your dreams.
