"An Eclectic Mass" pairs Mass movements by different composers with secular works exploring shared enduring human themes.
Discover the connections between sacred and secular music in Cantabile's "An Eclectic Mass," part of its 38th season, All of Us. The program brings together all the traditional movements of the Catholic Mass, a form beloved by composers throughout Western music history, with each movement drawn from a different composer's work. Interspersed between these movements are complementary secular pieces that explore the same themes, inviting listeners to hear familiar musical traditions in a new context.
Join Cantabile for an evening or afternoon exploring the shared human experiences that resonate across sacred and nonreligious music.
