Create Boulder Nights is a new quarterly event series, introducing the community to the diversity of performing arts in Boulder in a fun and exciting social setting.
The evening will feature performances from top Boulder-based musicians and actors from Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company, Boulder Opera and The Colorado Music Festival and Center for Musical Arts.
Casual Happy Hour with drinks and bites from a local restaurant will be included at eTown Cafe, beginning at 5 pm. The show will begin promptly at 6 pm.
The goal of the series is to enjoy a Happy Hour with the arts organizations and friends and introduce you to performances you may not otherwise experience.
Throughout the evening, each participating organization will share a short performance or presentation, offering a preview of the music, theater, film or dance that make Boulder’s arts community so vibrant.
The Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company shares a staged reading of BONNET, a short play by the Oscar-winning, Tony-winning, Pulitzer Prize-winning John Patrick Shanley. In this clever 10-minute comedy of manners, Ava appears at the breakfast table with a meaningful new accessory. Her husband Dan has a few questions.
This theatre company pronounces its acronym "Betsy" in honor of its founders' first theatre teacher. It has produced well-crafted, compelling theatre in service to the Colorado cultural community for 20 years. BETC now delivers Denver performances in addition to its longstanding tradition of shows in Boulder, and it aims for each show to cultivate connection, turn over mental soil, and welcome people from all walks of life to imagine, create, laugh, cry and dive into powerful stories powerfully told.
