Dear Steve... it’s Allie is a theatrical autobiography told with songs, stories, and pictures, written and performed by Allie n Steve Mullen, a small-town Baptist boy who grew up to be a cosmopolitan lady. In a performance that is both traditional and high-tech, Allie plays the piano and mountain dulcimer, weaving in historic field recordings and electronic beats, as she sings, tells stories, and talks to her younger self — Steve — about the heartland boy and devoted father she watched from a distance, and the life she now lives as a trans composer and artist.
