Join us for a special screening of IN THE DIRT, a powerful documentary that follows a group of passionate Native American cyclists as they work to bring mountain biking to the Navajo Nation. In this inspiring film, retired professional cyclist Scott Nydam and his family move to Gallup, New Mexico, where Scott discovers the deep love for cycling within the Navajo community. Despite the lack of bike shops and resources, a grassroots, Native-led movement is born to make mountain biking accessible to all.
Through perseverance and dedication, these cyclists have overcome countless challenges to build a thriving cycling culture in the heart of the Navajo Nation. The film highlights the transformative power of sport, community, and resilience in the face of adversity.
Don’t miss this chance to witness an inspiring story of collaboration and change. After the screening, we’ll have a brief discussion on the impact of the project and how mountain biking has become the fastest-growing recreational sport on the Navajo Nation.
