April 23: Join instructor Zayd Atkinson in an one hour all levels hatha and kriya yoga class. The practice of hatha yoga focuses on mind/body connection and purity. The emphasis on kriya yoga is to aid in relaxation while remaining aware of our experience(s). Dharana or ‘concentration’ methods and mudras (hand seals) will be introduced to assist in the management of the energy/sensations arising in and of the body; potentially generating various ‘states of mediation(s)’ within the practice(s). This class is a “well-rounded” yoga practice. Please bring your own yoga mat, and any yoga props you may use.

April 30: Join instructor Soul Lorain for a one hour all levels vinyasa yoga class at the Museum of Boulder. Staying true to the yoga definition: the balance between mind and body. This will be a time to honor the mind and body and learn how to best care for oneself. Unity between mind and body allows the life experience to be more joyous and abundant- something everyone deserves to experience. Come stretch, move, and create motion physically as well as mentally. Onwards and upwards facing dog! Please bring your own yoga mat, and any yoga props you may use.

Instructor Bios:

Zayd Atkinson is a 2022 Naropa University Alumni who double majored in yoga studies and environmental science studies. He spent 7 months as an aspiring bramachari (monk) in the Krishna Bhakti tradition before studying Hatha yoga in Boulder during his undergraduate degrees. Bhakti remains a part of his daily practice. As a yoga instructor, he is an instrument for the science of yoga and is attempting to facilitate a space where all can learn.

Soul Lorain is a multidisciplinary artist, a conversant as a Yogi, Dancer, DJ, and Model. As a yogi she has held her teaching certification for ten years, and a recognition as a Bikram Yoga CO state champion. Soul loves living an artful life, and uses the power of yoga to ground her through whatever is thrown her way. Soul currently works at Core Power Yoga, Vibe Yoga and Wellness, Elevated Living and as a private instructor. She incorporates all of her background to tailor a unique experience for each individual’s body. Emphasizing on the connection between breath, movement and proper alignment to fully realize the asana.
