The practice of ikebana, or the path of flowers, is a beautiful practice and contemplative journey. It teaches us that everyone has the instinct and courage for artistic talent. Skill develops with curiosity, receptivity, guidance from a trained instructor, and practice. Learn some history and background, basic patterns of harmony and mindfulness in working with
branches, flowers, water, space, intuition, and elegance.

This class will provide a perfect introduction to felt making. Using only our hands and some splashes of hot water, we'll transform fluffs of wool into a wrapper for a bar of fragrant natural soap (please bring your own if sensitive ). All materials will be provided. Kathy will share examples of other felting techniques to inspire your further exploration of this ancient and timeless art. Note this class is for folks not allergic to wool, soap, or scent.
Thursday, June 5th, 10:00am - 12:00pm: Zendala Drawing
A Zendala is a hybrid of a Mandala circle & Zentangle art. Mandalas represent wholeness, as well as our relation to the universe. Zendalas are relaxing and easy to create; there is no right or wrong way to make them. The process of creating a Zendala is a form of meditation in itself and a means of self-reflection and stress reduction. In this Zendala class, you will work on a circle tile zentangle tile and create a mandala using Zentangle art. Several Zentangle patterns will be introduced as well as exploring the use of color.
