The exhibition unites two bodies of work that have never been shown together: the “Seven Basics” — a series of seven paintings dedicated to the classical planets, each begun under astrological election and painted only on its corresponding planetary day — and the four Minor Arcana of “The Astro Magician’s Tarot,” an oil-painted tarot deck Amelia has been making over the last several years.
Each of the eleven paintings is 48 by 30 inches, oil on canvas. The Seven Basics depict the Moon, Mercury, Venus, the Sun, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, with corresponding metallic leaf incorporated (silver for the Moon, copper for Venus, gold for the Sun). The Minor Arcana paintings represent the four elemental suits — Cups, Pentacles, Swords, and Wands — drawing from Hermetic, alchemical, and Kabbalistic correspondences.
The event will feature live music, a curated experience for early-entry guests, and a Venus-themed room. A hybrid silent auction opens online fourty-eight hours before doors and remains open until fourty-eight hours after the event closes.
