The McGuckin Way: 70 Years as Boulder’s Favorite Everything Store

July 11 – September 27, 2025

Celebrate a true Boulder original as McGuckin Hardware turns 70. Join us for the opening reception on Monday, July 14, and be among the first to experience this special tribute to “Boulder’s Favorite Everything Store.” The evening kicks off at 5:30pm for Museum members and opens to the general public at 6:00pm, with light bites and drinks served until 8:00pm. Mingle with fellow fans, share your favorite McGuckin memories, and toast to seven decades of green vests, expert advice, and aisles of just about everything you can imagine.

The exhibit itself takes visitors on a journey through McGuckin’s evolution—from its humble 1955 beginnings to becoming a beloved, family-owned cornerstone of the Boulder community. Featuring rarely seen photographs and artifacts from the store’s own Green Vest archives, the display highlights the passion, service, and legendary product mix that have made McGuckin a household name for generations.
