Annual Downtown Boulder Fall Fest Kicks Off This Friday on the Pearl Street Mall

Category: Press Room

Three day event is back with live music, beer/margarita/wine garden, the Firefly Handmade Market and Free Children’s Activities

[Boulder, CO]  September 8, 2021 –  It didn’t feel much like fall last year without Downtown Boulder’s beloved Fall Fest to help celebrate the changing of seasons.  Produced by Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives (DBCI), the Fest is back this year to celebrate its 33rd anniversary.

For its fourth year,  Firefly Handmade Markets will host their annual Fall Market during the event.  Over 80 local artisans will share their designs in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, custom jewelry, paper goods, visual arts, food/beverage and more. For over a decade, Firefly has cultivated a passionate community of artisans and art lovers, rooted in creativity, quality, and individuality. They provide an outlet for new and returning handmade businesses to share their passion and connect with warm and supportive shoppers.  The Market opens on Friday from 5 - 9 pm on the Pearl Street Mall and continues on the Mall and 14th Street Saturday, September 11 from 10 am - 9 pm and Sunday, September 12 from 10 am - 5 pm.

This year’s Fall Fest live musical lineup begins Friday night at 5 pm with Mountain Rose (a newly created six piece Cosmic Rock-Funk ensemble) followed by the dynamic, powerhouse duo of Boulder-based Foxfeather at 7 pm sharing their Americana/Rock.  The music schedule for Saturday kicks off at 10 am with family favorites Jeff and Paige and continues throughout the day ending with Baracutanga at 7:30 pm.  Sunday's lineup concludes with a performance from the one and only Boulder-based, The Goonies! For a complete schedule of the musical lineup visit BoulderFallFest.com.

This year the beer/wine/margarita garden on the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall will feature brews from Avery Brewing Company ($5/glass), T/aco margaritas ($8/glass) and wine ($5).  Local food options will be available from Pearl Street Mall cart vendors including: Boulder Bowls, Chiri’s Momo Delights, Kingcomo Quesadilla and McDevitt Taco Supply – not to mention the many restaurants throughout downtown located on the Pearl Street Mall and adjacent streets.

Sponsored by Eldora Mountain Resort, Fall Fest Children's and Family Activities include free face painting (Saturday and Sunday at Eldora's tent on the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall), art and physical activities.  Enjoy an introductory Breakdancing class from Block 1750; make your own mini Buffalo of Boulder with Open Studios; take a movement class with ApeCo Movement School; enjoy a family yoga class taught by Yoga Pearl and have fun with clay from Studio Arts Boulder! If you haven’t seen the colorful, creative buffalo “roaming” throughout the downtown district this summer, make sure to check out Buffaloes of Boulder!  These gorgeous (and low maintenance) creatures are available for “adoption” through an online bidding system that wraps up on Sunday. The herd will gather on the Boulder Courthouse Lawn for a final viewing! Learn more at BuffaloesOfBoulder.com.
