Downtown Boulder Partnership, Visit Boulder and the Boulder Chamber Launch Monthly 'Go Out to Lunch Day' to Support Local Restaurants
Boulder, CO [February 13, 2025] – The Downtown Boulder Partnership (DBP), Visit Boulder and the Boulder Chamber are excited to announce the launch of Go Out to Lunch Day, a new community-driven initiative designed to support local restaurants and encourage workplace connection. Starting on Monday, February 24, and continuing on the last Monday of every month, Go Out to Lunch Day invites the Boulder’s workforce and community members to step away from their desks and enjoy a meal at a local eatery.
With rising costs of staffing and supplies, restaurants need community support now more than ever. Go Out to Lunch Day is a simple yet impactful way to help sustain Boulder’s vibrant dining scene by making dining out a regular habit.
“Initiatives like this remind the local community how vital local restaurants are—not only to our economy but also to our community’s culture and sense of place,” said Peter Waters Owner of T/ACO. “By choosing to dine out, even once a month, people can start to make a real difference for the restaurant community that contributes so much to our city’s vitality.”
Beyond supporting restaurants, this initiative also aims to reignite community connection by encouraging employees to spend more time reconnecting with friends and colleagues in person outside of virtual meetings. “A thriving local economy depends on engaged communities,” said Waters. “By stepping away from screens, sharing a meal, and supporting our local businesses, we’re fostering both economic growth and meaningful connections between people and place.”
DBP, Visit Boulder and the Boulder Chamber invite local businesses, organizations and individuals to participate by making a commitment to enjoy lunch at a Boulder restaurant on Monday, February 24, and every last Monday of the month thereafter. Diners are encouraged to share their experiences using #OutToLunchBoulder on social media. More information can be found online at OutToLunchDay.com.
