Boulder, CO [July 5, 2024] – The 2024 Pearl Street Arts Fest is back for its 44th year on Friday, July 19 from 3 - 8 pm, Saturday, July 20 from 10 am - 7 pm and Sunday, July 21 from 10 am - 5 pm. This juried festival features over 100 artists who will travel from across Colorado, as well as 15 other U.S. states to exhibit and sell pieces along the Pearl Street Mall in mediums ranging from sculptures, up-cycled materials, handcrafted wood, furniture, paintings in acrylic, oil and watercolors, ceramics, jewelry, photography and glass in styles ranging from abstract to impressionistic and functional to decorative.
New this year, the Pearl Street Arts Fest will include an Artists Invitational, this year featuring six BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) artists/artist pairs (Louise Cutler, Adderly Grant-Lord, Julio Mendoza, Corinne Trujillo/Aiko Szymczak, Latasha Greene). Festival attendees are highly encouraged to explore the amazing works of these talented artists at their Invitational Booths located in the heart of the festival - on the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall.
On Saturday and Sunday (July 20 and 21) from 10 am - 3pm Open Studios Mobile Art Lab will offer free activities and instruction for artists of all ages. Their tent will be located on the east side of the Boulder County Courthouse lawn.
This year’s commemorative poster is titled Flatiron Sunrise by Kristen Ross from Boulder, CO, and available to purchase in 16 x 20 ($45). The limited-edition, high-quality prints will be available at Art Source International (1237 Pearl Street) or at the artist's booth (#1212) right in front of the store while supplies last. In addition, commemorative posters dating back to 2013 are all available for purchase at Art Source.
The Pearl Street Arts Festival root's date back to 1978 when a group of creatives held the first community event on the (then) one year old Pearl Street Mall - the Downtown Boulder Art Fair. Since then, this beloved festival celebrating artists and Boulder’s creative community has evolved into one of the premiere summertime arts events in Colorado.
"It's been a pleasure to oversee this cherished event for over a decade,” said Anna Salim, VP of Operations & Programming for Downtown Boulder. “Creating Arts Fest involves a lot of passion from the talented artists who participate to the dedicated volunteers and our team who make it happen. This beloved summer tradition has grown and changed significantly over the past four decades."
Admission to the festival itself is free. Every Saturday and Sunday, City of Boulder Parking Garages are also free. Information can be found online at PearlStreetArtsFest.com.
The 2024 Pearl Street Arts Fest is presented by Bank of America and produced by Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives (DBCI). Sponsors include: City of Boulder, The Camera, Eldorado Natural Spring Water, Three Leaf Concepts, KUNC and Yellow Scene.
