Category: Press Room

Munchkin Masquerade Returns on October 31, 2025

Boulder, CO [October 6, 2025] Downtown Boulder's family-favorite Halloween tradition, Munchkin Masquerade returns on Friday, October 31 from 3 - 6 PM. Children ages 12 and under are invited to dress as their favorite characters, including tiny ghosts, goblins, dinosaurs, fairies, superheroes and more, for a fun-filled afternoon of trick-or-treating.

Local businesses along the Pearl Street Mall, East End and West End districts and adjoining streets will serve as official Treat Stops, offering candy and goodies to costumed kids. The Visitor Information Center will also be a Treat Stop. The list of participating Treat Stops will be updated daily at MunchkinMasquerade.com, so families can plan their route and be sure to stop by their local favorites.

“This beloved family event is made possible by the support of our generous business community who provide thousands of pieces of candy every year,” says Anna Salim, Downtown Boulder’s VP of Operations & Programming. “We hope our community will express their thanks when they come out to this fun trick-or-treating event.”

The event offers excellent photo opportunities, from creative costumes, smiling kids to the festive downtown decorations, and a photo op at Downtown Boulder’s own kid-friendly haunted house on the 1400 block of the Pearl Street Mall. Families and media alike are encouraged to capture the joyful moments, playful outfits and the lively streetscape that make Munchkin Masquerade a highlight of downtown Boulder's Halloween season. Parking in city of Boulder garages costs $3 between 3 pm - 3 am Mondays - Fridays. Details can be found online at BoulderParking.com.

Families are invited to return downtown throughout the season to explore and enjoy local shops and restaurants. While Munchkin Masquerade focuses on kids and celebrating community spirit, it also highlights the many wonderful businesses downtown has to offer, making it a perfect reminder to shop and dine locally as the holiday season approaches.

The Munchkin Masquerade is a free event produced by Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives and is presented by Elevations Credit Union, with additional sponsors the City of Boulder, Daily Camera, Lifetime Home Remodeling and Quantum Fiber
