Hey Downtown!
In my last blog, I shared some of the amazing spots downtown that I’ve been dying to try. Today I had an hour to kill for lunch, so I finally got to try some new ones!
It was a rainy day, but I had my bicycle with me, so I figured I’d bike around and hop from spot to spot. In the interest of time, my first stop was one of our neighbors here at the Downtown Boulder Partnership on the 1300 block of Pearl Street: Pizza Colóre! I’ve had their classic pepperoni pizza before, but today I decided to switch it up and try the “Angry Hawaiian,” which comes loaded with bacon, Canadian bacon, sweet-spicy marinated "angry" pineapple, cheddar, mozzarella, and spicy "angry" sauce. It was the perfect mix of sweet, salty, and spicy, and exactly what I wanted on a grey, drizzly afternoon. If you’re hungry and looking for your own lunch spot, our dining listings are a great place to start, and the Bites on a Budget page is perfect for a quick, affordable midday meal.
Next, I biked over to Amante Coffee, which I had never tried before. I asked the barista to surprise me with a drink, and she made me a hot pumpkin chai. It was so yummy and cozy, and it felt like the perfect way to warm up as we get further into fall. If you’re a coffee lover, you can explore even more caffeine stops on our Coffee Trail, which winds through downtown and is easy to tackle in one day or spread out over a few.

Biking is one of my favorite ways to get around, and downtown Boulder makes it simple. You can bike to downtown from almost anywhere in Boulder along a bike path, and bike racks are found all throughout the area, including bike storage lockers at the RTD Station. Don’t have a bike with you? Boulder BCycle has e-bike stations throughout downtown, so you can unlock a bike with the BCycle app, ride to your next stop, and dock it at any station when you’re done. If you’re planning your own trip, our Getting Here page can help you navigate any type of commute downtown, and our Parking page has all the details if you’re coming by car.
For my last stop, I headed to Spruce Confections. I got the tastiest slice of cake with raspberry throughout, and every bite had a crunch from the nuts baked inside and sprinkled on top. It was the perfect sweet ending to my lunch break. If you have a sweet tooth like me, our Sweets Trail is full of bakeries, ice cream, and candy shops. What’s on your list to try next?

There are tons of places to try, and I’m beyond excited to keep supporting local businesses. Want to find your own next stop? See what’s coming up on our Event Calendar, or explore the East and West Ends on The East End and The West End pages. For everything else, head to boulderdowntown.com!
Until next time,
