As my time with the Downtown Boulder Partnership (DBP) wraps up, I want to reflect on my experience. I’m sad to leave such an amazing team, but thankfully I live in town and can easily visit all the shops, restaurants and everyone else who keeps the 49 block district running. I have loved exploring old and new spots, as well as giving you the inside scoop on events and holidays! Every event, blog and social media post that I have created has been a great journey and an experience that I’ll never forget.

Fall seems to pass fast here in Boulder, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t take your time to enjoy what downtown has to offer! Today, I have 5 recommendations for food and events for you to enjoy throughout October and November.

The first day of Autumn was September 22 which means fall is upon us! I am so excited for the various decor, drinks, food, clothing and other seasonal items. I want to share a few places I love that have some fall items rolling out already.

There are many places to grab a bite along the four blocks of the Pearl Street Mall and even more delicious places along the East and West End districts. Today, I’m sharing two of my favorites. The first place is an old favorite of mine ( I used to go there all the time in high school with my friends) and the other is a new-to-me place that I can see myself returning to again and again in the future.

I’m sure there’s many of you out there feeling the stress of  students in your household starting school again as well. I have a great idea for a stress buster for your entire family... Fall Fest has come to the rescue for everyone!

My name is Cash and I’m the Downtown Boulder Partnership’s fall intern. I have lived in Boulder for a large portion of my life and love downtown Boulder and its treasures. I am currently a Senior at CU Denver studying Communication with a minor in Sociology and a Certificate in Strategic Communications.

Unfortunately, this will be the last time I’m writing to you as my summer internship wraps up. In the last few months, I’ve had a fantastic time trying new places around downtown Boulder and learning more about the awesome people that make up the Boulder community. I have been fortunate enough to pick up lots of real-world experience while getting to work in our beautiful downtown district.

Summer is in full swing in Boulder, which means an abundance of sun and a few scorching hot days along the way. Luckily, downtown Boulder has plenty of ways to cool off when it feels like you are melting outside!

Since I came to Boulder almost two years ago I’ve had so many awesome experiences downtown! I’d normally say that one day to experience all of the amazing restaurants, shops and outdoor activities is just not enough but, I wanted to try to narrow it down so that if you only had one day, here are my top recommendations of the best way to spend one perfect day in downtown Boulder.

Summertime is here which means it is time to get outside and enjoy all the amazing things that downtown Boulder has to offer. This is my first summer in Boulder and I’m looking forward to taking in all of the super fun events and taking advantage of the range of outdoor activities available in Boulder.

Father’s Day is here, and it is time to celebrate the dependable and loving dads in our lives. It is time reserved to spend time with close family and appreciate everything that dads do for us. On Father’s Day, my family and I always get outside to enjoy the sunshine, whether playing catch with my dad and brothers, golfing or having a family barbecue.

Summertime is right around the corner, which means the end of the school year is here. Kids are ready to put their books down, get off of Zoom and start taking advantage of gorgeous weather in Boulder by playing outside and getting together with friends.

I never thought the day would come, but I am sitting here writing my last blog as an intern with the Downtown Boulder Partnership! I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to share my perspective and experiences with downtown Boulder businesses with you all!

This week, I wanted to write an extra blog to feature some of the new places I got to try this semester that stood out to me! I thought it would be fun to go to all these places and capture my ventures on film, but there was a bit of a hiccup.

As we all know, the COVID-19 pandemic has shaken up our lives in more ways than one. One of the new normals we have had to adapt to is changing workspaces. While working from home seems ideal at first, it can quickly drain you of motivation and leave you dreading work.

It’s the start of a new week and I’m hoping the 60 degree weather is here to stay. Every time it is beginning to warm up, that means Downtown Boulder is also starting to thrive with plants, people… and art!

With warmer temperatures and blooming tulips, it has become more and more enticing to spend all day outside. One of the most fun ways to spend time outside is… you guessed it… on a rooftop! Downtown Boulder has a variety of rooftops and patios to choose from so you can sit outside and soak up the sun, all while enjoying great food and drinks.

The devastation of the past week has created a need for the Boulder community to support each other more than ever. The tragic events that unfolded have taken a toll on us all, and I want to use this blog to offer resources to help you cope through these trying times, as well as to update you on what the downtown Boulder community is doing to help.

As I’m sure many of us know, downtown Boulder got quite a bit of snow this past weekend. I am personally a big fan of snow days, but I know a lot of people dread them (along with the shoveling that accompanies them). I am here to give you a few ideas of how downtown Boulder can help you prepare for future snowy weekends so you have a little bit more fun, and to give you ideas of what to do once it gets warm again.

It is mid-March which means one of my favorite holidays is right around the corner… St. Patrick’s Day! I always love seeing people and towns turn green, with smiles on their faces. To me, St. Patrick's Day always marks the start of Spring, whether it be 10 degrees and snowing or 50 degrees and sunny. In this blog, I will give you ideas of ways to celebrate in either circumstance!

Spring is just around the corner and warmer weather is approaching. It’s almost time for spring cleaning and time to refresh your space to set you up for a successful and happiness-filled season.

As many of you know, Black History Month, celebrated during the month of February (each year since 1976), is an annual celebration of achievements by the Black community and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history.

Now more than ever, random acts of kindness are standing out and making a mark. Today is 2021’s National Random Acts of Kindness day, so let’s take this opportunity to bring joy into a world that has gone through a lot recently.

I get to do a lot of fun things for my job. In addition to my most favorite thing, which is visiting businesses in downtown and catching up with staff or just saying hi, I have the opportunity to get creative with the ways we interact with our businesses and the general public.

Like everything else over the past year, Super Bowl viewing might be a bit different than usual. No worries though, because the restaurants in downtown Boulder want to help you make this year’s Super Bowl just as fun as any other year.

Every person has their own way of celebrating holidays, Valentine’s Day included. This year, your traditional way of celebrating may need to be modified with covid-safe alternatives.

My name is Ally and I am the Downtown Boulder Partnership’s spring intern. Boulder has an irresistible charm, so when applying to colleges I knew CU Boulder would be where I ended up.

Well - we made it...2020 is almost over and while January 1st won’t look all that different (hello pandemic), the metaphoric clean slate is MUCH needed after a tough year.

It is election season and in case you haven’t heard it yet (just kidding)...make sure you VOTE! Election Day takes place one week from today on November 3 and lucky for us voting in Colorado is super easy.

Julie here - DBP’s Marketing and Comm. Coordinator - in case you didn’t remember ;) This week, I want to call attention to World Mental Health Day, which takes place on Saturday, October 10. World Mental Health Day is an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma.

If you’re new to our blog, welcome! If you’re not, you might be wondering who I am and why I am writing this blog post instead of our intern.

As you may or may not be aware, June is Pride Month! Pride Month is held every June to commemorate the Stonewall Riots that took place in June 1969 and paved the way for LGBTQ+ people and LGBTQ+ rights.

As many in this community know, downtown Boulder is more than just a place, it is a feeling. Now, with this blog page, we are bringing those Boulder vibes to your space!

Tomorrow is the opening day for the annual Boulder International Film Festival (happening all weekend downtown)!

Tomorrow is a day that only comes once every four years: Leap Day! To me, Leap Day means an extra day to both get caught up on work and have some fun. These are two things that can easily be accomplished downtown.

I love Galentine’s Day where ladies celebrate ladies. Leslie Knope of the show Parks and Rec defines Galentine’s Day as a day to celebrate your lady friends and that it should be a national holiday. I could not agree more.

As we all know, this Sunday is one of the nation’s favorite annual events: Groundhog Day! Oh… not where you were expecting me to go with that one? Well, you’re right. I’m really here to talk about Super Bowl LIV which has a special place in my heart...

I was walking down the Pearl Street Mall the other day and something was different, I wasn’t sure what, but I knew something had changed. After a few minutes of seriously over-analyzing my surroundings, I figured it out...

Hello Downtown Boulder! I’m Keighlee (it’s pronounced Kee-Lee, I know, my parents are creative) and I am super excited to be Downtown Boulder’s spring intern.

Just like the song from The Sound of Music, my time has come to say “farewell” but I’ll still be out and about exploring all the beauty in downtown!

Now many lattes and cappuccinos later, I created the Downtown Coffee Trail for you! It includes some of the best coffee shops in downtown Boulder, all with unique offerings.

Happy *early* Thanksgiving folks! Do you still need last minute plans or ideas? Well I’ve got you covered! Downtown Boulder is full of turkey and Thanksgiving happenings between pick-up meals and reservations for dinner!

Are you ready to play in the snow, drink hot cocoa from an IV and wear comfy clothes? Good news for you, it’s wintertime AND downtown Boulder has a TON of events to get you in the holiday spirits starting November 24 throughout the season.

Have you noticed more street art around Boulder lately? That’s thanks to Street Wise Boulder - an initiative by local artists and art space that brings together murals on alleyways, buildings and more.

This week is HALLOWEEN! I have some news for you, downtown Boulder is full of EXCITING things for the holiday - be ready to pick and choose from a wide variety of Halloween parties...

Hygge is known as the Danish lifestyle of coziness and contentment...I scoured downtown Boulder for items that would allow me to master the concept of “Hygge” so that I (and you) can be at my highest level of comfort during my downtime!

I’m spending a lot of time downtown so I know the perfect places to find winter jackets and other gear, because who couldn’t use more options to survive the cold that’s coming our way?!

Now that it is October I am in the mood for all things spooky! Besides watching scary movies and making apple cider, one thing on my to-do list is to figure out what I am going to be for Halloween.

With the start of October this week lots of new things are happening around downtown Boulder. One of these new and exciting things is the opening of Rosetta Hall.

The trend of “brunching” has been lively over the past few years. From finding t-shirts that say “Brunch Squad,” “Viva la Brunch"....brunch seems to be everywhere. I happen to love brunch myself, and as an avid breakfast-food lover I have taken it upon myself to detail the best brunches in the downtown district!

Lately, Mother Nature has been giving Boulder some beautiful weather. Here’s a list of some notable patios downtown ideal for enjoying the outdoors with a delicious meal.

I don’t know about you, but I happen to know a handful of people with birthdays at the end of August and early September. My sister just had her birthday, and she is coming to visit me this weekend from Dallas, so I plan on having a mini belated birthday celebration for her! I just need a cake...

This week I am on the hunt to find the perfect present for one of my best friends Kate. She is completely obsessed with all things self-care, so I am going to scour downtown stores to see what I can find to give her a present that she will love.

My name is Alicia and I am the new fall intern for Downtown Boulder. I am absolutely thrilled to completely immerse myself in this distinctive and exciting space!

For the past three months, I have had the pleasure of interning for the Downtown Boulder Partnership. I have learned so much about marketing, improved my writing skills, and have grown to love the downtown district even more.

It can be stressful to think about all the upcoming assignments and tests so shift your thinking to all the good things that come with a new school year, such as new friends, new knowledge, and new school supplies! I have put together a list of Back to School Essentials that will help you thrive this school year...

To help keep my wallet in check,  I’ve been trying to spend less on lunches. To help you out, I have put together a list of delicious places to get an affordable meal during your lunch break.

In recent years the act of “thrifting” has become hugely popular. The used items trend could be attributed to Macklemore’s 2012 hit song “Thrift Shop”, the hipster fashion craze, or the influential green movement. Whatever the reason, thrifting has become one of my favorite things to do.

As you probably know, the beach is very different from our downtown district and I have a lot of beach necessities I have to pick up before I leave. Luckily for me, all the items I need for the beach can be found within downtown Boulder!

Soon my entire family will be in Colorado, and while I am so excited to see them, I am a little nervous about keeping them all entertained and happy. Luckily I live and work in an excellent area that truly has something for everyone!

I love spending my summers with kids because there are so many fun activities to do. This is my first summer in Boulder, and the opportunities for kids to play and learn are endless, making my job as a nanny substantially easier.

Downtown Boulder would not be the wonderful place it is without the support of the many hardworking and friendly employees that make up the local business scene.

The weather in May is always unpredictable, yet instead of embracing it, I continue to be surprised and upset every year when I see rain and snow in the forecast. I am usually a morning person, but it has been really hard to leave my bed these past couple of weeks. Luckily, I am a coffee addict and I have a couple of go-to shops that feed my addiction to make my days much less groggy.

My name is Sally and I am Downtown Boulder’s summer intern. I am excited to be spending the summer in such a charming and inimitable place! I am an incoming junior at CU, studying marketing and leadership with a couple of certificates thrown in there.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end. This is my last week as an intern and I really can’t believe how fast time has flown by!

Here’s a random fact about me, tulips are hands down my favorite flower. I love the fact that they’re scentless and don’t give me a headache, they come in a variety of bright colors, and they signify that warm weather and sunshine are well on their way!

Lazy Sundays and brunch dates go together like champagne and orange juice, the perfect combination to kick off the start of a new week. With Easter Sunday coming in hot now’s the time to start booking those brunch reservations!

We all know that Boulder is a beautiful place, there’s no denying it, but if you look around town you’ll find that there are some ridiculously beautiful people who live here as well.

Attention, attention, calling all movie buffs! The 15th Annual Boulder International Film Festival is happening this weekend, February 28 to March 3.

My heart broke when I heard that one of my favorite East End stores and downtown shopping destinations, Common Era, is closing its doors after two decades.

Greetings Boulderites and visitors alike, my name is Lee Yamakawa and I am Downtown Boulder Partnership’s new Marketing and Communications spring intern. I am currently a senior at the University of Colorado Boulder, majoring in Communication with a minor in Leadership Studies.

As fall semester begins to come to an end so does my internship here at Downtown Boulder. This will be my last blog post as an intern! I cannot believe how fast this semester and my internship went by. I am walking away having learned tons of new skills. I’ve met a lot of amazing people and gotten to experience many of the great attributes of working downtown! I am just finishing up first semester of my junior year at CU Boulder, next I will be exploring Europe and studying abroad in Prague for the spring semester.

It is really starting to feel like the holidays here in downtown Boulder. After a great kick off to the holiday season with Switch on the Holidays, the grand illumination of the Pearl Street Mall, it's beginning to feel like the most wonderful time of the year! Along with festive lights and the holidays fast approaching comes show stopping window displays! I love strolling downtown this time of year for the sole reason of looking at the beautiful holiday displays the stores downtown have created. I wanted to showcase the best of the best of the best this year so all of you can see for yourselves the craftsmanship that goes into curating these festive displays.

This time of the year always inspires me to step back and reflect on things that I am grateful for. This year especially I am grateful to the downtown Boulder community for curating an environment unlike anywhere else, some place that truly feels like home. I feel privileged to live in such an incredible community where there is something for everyone to enjoy, an abundance of delicious food and drink options, events that bring the community together, and a beautiful city to learn and create in. I want to highlight five things downtown that I am grateful for and embody the lively downtown community.

Downtown is the perfect place for my friends and I to have a girls’ day. We love to head downtown to explore the shops, soak up the beautiful weather, and enjoy delicious dining and drinks.

Growing up in Boulder is an experience I wouldn't trade for the world. One amazingly unique feature about downtown and the surrounding community is the emphasis on supporting local businesses. Downtown Boulder has an abundance of locally owned shops and restaurants that have established a loyal customer base and have helped encourage the idea of shopping and dining locally. The term “Love the Local” has been coined to inspire residents and visitors to shop and dine locally.

Wintertime on the Pearl Street Mall is one of the most beautiful times of the year. The bricks dusted in snow and the sleepy atmosphere of the mall make for a scene that looks like it belongs on a postcard. While many believe the prime time to enjoy downtown Boulder is during the warmer seasons, winter offers many fun, cozy, indoor activities that everyone can enjoy.

My name is Emma and I am the new Downtown Boulder Intern for Fall 2018. I am currently entering my junior year at CU Boulder where I am studying Advertising and double-minoring in Business and Communication.

I can’t believe that my internship with Downtown Boulder is coming to an end! What an amazing journey this has been, I’m glad that I was able to experience my first internship right in the heart of Boulder.

As I head into my senior year at CU I can’t help but to think about how excited and nervous all the incoming freshmen will be. I remember those days like it was only yesterday! Now that I’m getting older-ish I am ready to sprinkle my wisdom and knowledge onto the next generation of young Buffs.

The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse is one of Boulder’s most unique attractions. The story that lies behind the teahouse is one that symbolizes years of friendship between two cities on opposite sides of the globe. The teahouse was built by hand in Dushanbe, Tajikistan in 1987 and then was gifted to Boulder.

Summer is almost over, and school will soon be back in session, so I’ve decided to come up with a list of 5 things I need to experience before this summer slips away.

So one of the major perks about this internship is that you constantly get to explore downtown. I get to scope out all of the new stores and restaurants that pop up, and give an insider's perspective to all of you.

My name is Tyla, I’m currently a student at CU Boulder, and am your new eyes, ears, and voice of Downtown Boulder as the summer 2018 intern. As a Colorado native, Boulder has always been a big part of my life

I truly cannot believe I am at the end of this experience with Downtown Boulder and my college career. What a treat it was to work with this wonderful organization in my last internship as an undergrad. The passion and dedication of the team I worked with will ruin me forever as I search for an job with the same warm and charismatic culture as the Downtown Boulder Partnership.

I think it's safe to say that most people’s favorite time of year is summer and I would definitely qualify as one of those people. I’m not sure if it’s the nostalgia of summer break as a kid, or if it’s the beautiful weather, but we can all appreciate a nice, gorgeous summer day.

It’s springtime in Downtown Boulder. How can we tell? Tulips all along Pearl Street are beginning to bloom!

As we get ramped up for spring, we are getting ready for a jam packed season full of events downtown. One of the favorite events around the office is Taste of Pearl. Personally, I am really excited to be a part of what sounds like a really fun event.

As 2018 begins, so does the last semester of my senior year at CU Boulder.

It’s a special time of year for Downtown Boulder Partnership where business owners from across the downtown community come together to eat, network, and reflect on the accomplishments of past year. This year’s luncheon was especially exciting because... I was there!

Hi everyone! My name is Alicia, and I am Downtown Boulder’s new spring intern! To start, I am so excited to work behind the scenes and participate in what makes downtown so special.

As this fall semester has come to a fast and unexpected close, so has my internship with Downtown Boulder. After these last four months of interning here, I am happy to be able to walk away with some real-life experience under my belt. As a senior, I will be graduating this upcoming May and (hopefully) begin my post-grad life as a young professional soonafter! I am thankful that this internship has given me an opportunity to get a hands-on glimpse and head start towards my future.

Not sure where the best places to eat/drink/shop/explore are downtown? I can guarantee you that no one knows this better than downtown business owners and employees themselves.

Happy Friday everybody! This upcoming week is a big one for Downtown Boulder because Tuesday October 10th is SHIFT10 Day!

In the week following Downtown Boulder’s Fall Fest, the weather is cooling down, the leaves are beginning to change, and fall is in the air.
