A Taste of Pearl You Won’t Want to Miss

Category: Boulder Blog

Hello downtown Boulder!

Spring Break just wrapped up, and if you’re anything like me, you’re probably already looking for something fun to look forward to. Luckily, you don’t have to look far. This Sunday, March 29th from 2-5 p.m., Pearl Street is turning into one big tasting experience for the annual Taste of Pearl, and it’s one of those afternoons you won’t want to miss.

If you’ve ever wished you could try a little bit of everything downtown has to offer all in one day, this is your chance.

Picture this: strolling down Pearl Street, popping into some of your favorite boutiques or art galleries (and maybe some you’ve never stopped into before), and at each stop, getting to try a perfectly paired bite and sip from some of downtown’s restaurants and Colorado beverage partners. With 16 different restaurants, hosted in 16 retail locations, and 16 beverage partners spread throughout downtown, every stop will bring something new, whether it’s a bold combination you didn’t expect, or a new favorite you’ll be thinking about long after Sunday.

I would consider myself a serious foodie, so this event is literally my dream, getting to experience elevated food and drink pairings from local vendors while strolling along a beautiful street, with gorgeous tulips blooming and live music playing in the background. It wouldn’t be a perfect afternoon downtown without a little extra atmosphere, and Taste of Pearl definitely delivers. There will be live music on the bricks by Denver Metro Jazz from 1- 3 p.m., setting the tone for a lively, spring-filled afternoon. I can already imagine people out enjoying the sunshine, moving from place to place and soaking in that lively downtown energy that we all know and love.

What makes Taste of Pearl so special is that it’s not all in one place. Instead, the experience is woven throughout downtown, inside boutiques, galleries, and local spaces you might not usually walk into. You might find yourself stepping into places like Art Source International, Pedestrian Shops and other downtown favorites, small bites and drink in hand, discovering something new as you go. It turns the whole afternoon into something more than just a tasting, it becomes a way to explore, wander, and see downtown from a different perspective. Many retail venues will also be promoting exclusive shopping deals, making it the perfect excuse to treat yourself while supporting local businesses along the way.

Tickets are still available, making this the perfect last-minute Sunday plan if you’re looking to mix things up. You can purchase in advance, and if space allows, limited day-of-tickets or walk-up sports may be available. With restaurants like Japango and West End Tavern and more joining the lineup, paired with Colorado favorites like Boulder Spirits, Savannah Bee Company and many others you can expect some seriously good flavor combinations each and every time.

Whether you’re planning a Sunday outing with friends, making it a date day, or just looking for a new opportunity to experience downtown, Taste of Pearl is one of those events that reminds you just how much there is to discover right under your nose.

Can't wait to  see you out there this Sunday!

Until next time,

Ava
