Hey Downtown,
Cozy sweaters, warm beverages, chillier temperatures…I don’t know about all of you, but fall has always been my favorite time of the year. There is something special about the briskness to the morning air in mid-September that tells me the best season is right around the corner. And there is no better way to celebrate than at Downtown Boulder’s annual Fall Fest!
Grab an autumn-flavored drink from Ozo Coffee and head to the Pearl Street Mall this weekend, September 16 - 18, to partake in all the fall festivities. From live music and local food to free children’s activities and the Firefly Handmade Market, there is plenty to explore on and off the bricks. As a newcomer to the Boulder area, I’m so excited to enjoy my first Fall Fest. Here is how I plan on spending my Saturday - I hope to see you there!
I plan to arrive downtown around 2:00 pm so I can enjoy the festival during the afternoon and evening. For easy parking, I’ll leave my car in a City of Boulder parking garage (it’s FREE - year round - on Saturdays and Sundays )! Since I’m right there, I’m going to the East End for a quick stop at a few of my favorite shops - Terracotta and Paradise Found Records & Music. Then, I’ll make my way down to the Pearl Street Mall where Fall Fest will be in full swing.
Around 3:00 pm, Libelula - a local band will be performing on the 1300 block. This funky and groovy group is sure to put on a great show, so I will definitely be stopping by the stage to listen! (View the full musical line-up for the weekend here). Next, I plan to spend quite a bit of time exploring the 80+ artisans that will be showcasing their work at Firefly Handmade’s Fall Market. From home goods and ceramics to jewelry and accessories, there will be lots of treasures to discover up and down the Mall (and all along 14th Street).
By the evening, I’ll be ready to refuel. The Beer/Wine/Cocktail Garden on the 1300 block will be calling my name. I can't wait to try a crafted canned cocktail and grab some vegetarian momos from Chiri’s Momo Delight. While I won’t personally be partaking in children’s activities, I’m sure I’ll have fun watching kids race through the free inflatable obstacle course on the Boulder Courthouse lawn. (Check out all the family-friendly fun here)!
I’ll end my day by enjoying the music, catching up with friends and soaking in all the autumn vibes. Before I head home, you’ll find me on the West End grabbing a scoop of gelato from Gelato Boy - because no perfect day is complete without some cool, creamy gelato!
It looks like a beautiful weekend, so grab your light sweaters and jackets and join me at Fall Festival. I’ll see you there!
