Memorial Day Festivities 2018

Memorial Day is right around the corner, and of course, Downtown Boulder will be buzzing with events and people! If you’re wondering what to do on Memorial Day (and weekend) don’t worry, I’m here to help.

Kick-off the weekend at the Boulder Farmers Market Saturday morning, then head to the 31st Annual Boulder Creek Festival, which will run from this Saturday the 26th until the end of Memorial Day on Monday. Central Park will host this free festival and feature a wide variety of events, activities, food, and entertainment all centered around the Boulder community. Don’t forget about all the carnival rides you can hop on! Come experience this event with friends and family all weekend long, I guarantee there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

If you haven’t heard of the BolderBOULDER, then maybe you live under a boulder? As you already likely know, the BolderBOULDER takes place on Memorial Day. If you’re into running, walking, or even just watching people race in crazy costumes you can’t miss this. BolderBOULDER is a favorite on Memorial Day for many Boulder folks, you can’t beat listening to fun music and seeing all the smiling faces participating in this event. There is still time to register! I suggest parking in one of the City of Boulder Parking Garages for free, then you can head on over to 15th and Pearl Street or 13th and Spruce Street for a great viewing spot. View the full course map here!

Also, make sure to check out the BolderBOULDER Expo and SportsEXHIBIT that takes place Saturday and Sunday right on the mall. Some of the vendors include Prana, Bulldog Yoga, Clif Bar, and many more!

Memorial Day is a time to have fun and relax, so if you’re looking for something more low key then I recommend meandering up and down Pearl Street. You can hit the shops on Pearl Street, or find your favorite patio to people watch on. Or even head on over to Cured and purchase a picnic box to enjoy in the sun by the creek.

Whatever you choose to do this Memorial Day make sure to grab your friends, and family, and get outside to experience all the fun that’ll be happening downtown!

Best,

Intern Tyla
