Football season is back and (hopefully) the Buffs are better than ever. With the first home game kicking off on September 9th, the downtown district is eager to celebrate game days with numerous specials, watch parties, events and more. To help you get into the Buff spirit, we’ve compiled a guide for game days downtown!
I’m a senior at CU Boulder, so I’m so excited to kick off the football season and have one final, amazing year with the help of Coach Prime and the new players. Whether you were able to score tickets or not, there will be plenty to do downtown to support Buff nation!
On September 8, head downtown to support the Buffs at a CU Athletics Meet & Greet. This will be a fun way to get involved with the Buff community! Join CU mascot Chip and the Spirit Squad on 13th Street for a photo opportunity before the Pearl Street Stampede at 7 p.m. (Remember the Stampedes happen all season long the night before home games!)Plus enjoy one free shaved ice per person from Punch Buggy Shave Ice or one free scoop of ice cream from Best One Yet! After the meet & greet, head to the 1300 Block of the Pearl Street Mall for the first Pearl Street Stampede of the season. Cheer on your CU Buffs football team the evening before their big game against Nebraska! The Pearl Street Stampedes have been a downtown tradition for over a decade. Before each home game, hundreds of Buffs line the Pearl Street Mall to watch the “Golden Buffalo” Marching Band and cheer on the CU football team.
Join The Post for the Buffs Primetime Coaches Show! Each week, The Post will be hosting a CU Football play-by-play with Coach Prime. Tickets to the show include entrance to The Coach’s Show and lunch, including fried chicken, salad and a beverage! Enjoy hot chicken, cold beer and football chats with CU’s new, star coach! Check out the weekly show lineup and buy tickets on their website.
Head to My Neighbor Felix's for a boozy brunch before the game! They offer their Buff Brunch special every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. With $13 delicious brunch entrees and a $30 mimosa tower, My Neighbor Felix is ready to cater your weekend brunch plans.
Avanti Boulder will host watch parties on the fourth floor to cheer on the Buffs! They will be offering $4 Avery Stampede Cans and $5 Pink Whitney Shots! Every night before a home game, enjoy a live, rooftop performance from the Golden Buffalo Marching Band at sunset!
September 1st is National College Colors Day! Deck yourself out in black, gold and silver this weekend to show your support! In need of some game-day attire for the festivities downtown? Check out Jackalope & Co. International, BoCo Life, Savvy on Pearl, Charlie’s T-Shirts and Where the Buffalo Roam!
I can’t wait for this season ahead and I hope to see all of you decked out in Buff attire downtown! Sko Buffs!
More to come,
Rebecca!
