This summer as part of the City of Boulder's "Social Streets" initiative, the Downtown Boulder Partnership is hosting a series of FREE fun events / activities along 13th Street between Arapahoe Avenue and Canyon Boulevard. (The events are free and all members of the community and visitors near and far are invited to attend to participate or just enjoy as spectators!) So grab your family/neighbors/friends and come meet on the street to celebrate community and enjoy our vibrant downtown district!

Rollerpalooza (A Celebration of All Things Wheels)
Sunday, June 25, 2023 | 1 pm - 5 pm
Grab your family and friends along with your bicycle, tricycle, scooter, skateboard, or roller skates and come join us on 13th Street for an exhilarating celebration of all things that roll.
It's the perfect opportunity to 'hang ten' on wheels! Immerse yourself in a delightful ambiance as you enjoy a nostalgic roller rink experience accompanied by DJ Elijah Moore playing original and classic disco and funk songs; embark on a scenic bike tour up and down vibrant 13th Street. Meet up with the Boulder PD to register your bike with the city, receive safety tips and enter-to-win bike locks.
Please make sure you BRING YOUR OWN WHEELS!

Let's dance! Move and groove on 13th Street, where a fun-filled evening awaits with the captivating allure of variety of music and dance genres. Immerse yourself in a variety of experiences that invite all to participate - whether you're an intrepid novice or a seasoned virtuoso of the dance floor.
Enjoy mesmerizing short performances from local dance troops along with immersive introductory lessons that will culminate in a lively and fun social dance hour set to tunes from all music genres.

Come partake in the unconventional delight of a street-side picnic. Venture into the heart of 13th Street for a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Select from a delectable array of locally sourced culinary delights for purchase or bring your own favorite dishes to enjoy and share. Engage in lively conversations with your neighbors as you gather around a vibrant community table over a bite to eat!

Boulder County Farmers Market will be joining Picnic on the Pavement and selling a Picnic Pack with products from Boulder County producers found on the online market here and Colorado stone fruit for your local picnic connection! Yappy Hour

“Unleash” (but please keep your pup leashed) an afternoon of fun as furry four legged friends come together for a special canine social gathering. Get ready for wagging tails, playful barks and boundless energy.
Yappy Hour serves as a haven for four-legged companions and their devoted owners to meet, bond and revel in the shared love for dogs. This event will include sniffing introductions, spirited games of fetch, infectious canine smiles and much more. Join us on 13th Street as we celebrate the unbreakable bond between humans and their beloved furry companions. Remember, cats drool and dogs rule!

Boulder Street Soccer Classic
Sunday, August 13, 2023 | Time: 10 AM - 8 PM
The Boulder Street Soccer Classic (BSSC) is a first of its kind for the city of Boulder! During this one day Street Soccer tournament (featuring youth and adult brackets), teams will compete 5v5 on small street courts in friendly play to see who will be crowned the first BSSC Champion. With vendors, food trucks, and DJs, it's sure to be a day of Futbol fun. *All registration fees from this event will be donated to support Youth soccer programs in CO.

Melanin Funk Festival- Friday, September 1st | 6 PM - 9 PM
The 2023 Melanin Funk Festival will be a vibrant celebration of Black culture and community in the heart of downtown Boulder. All are welcome to enjoy an evening of fun on 13th Street, featuring renowned artists/local groups, food, drinks, and musical performances. This will be an event like no other!

CU Athletics Meet and Greet
Friday, September 8, 2023 | 6 PM - 7 PM
Join CU mascot Chip and the Spirit Squad on 13th Street for some fun and a photo opportunity before the Pearl Street Stampede at 7 pm.
PLUS enjoy one FREE shaved ice per person from Punch Buggy Shave Ice or one FREE scoop of ice cream (restrictions apply) from Best One Yet! The fun doesn't stop there...at 7 pm head over to the Pearl Street Mall for the first Pearl Street Stampede of the season! Cheer on your CU Buffs football team the evening before their big game against Nebraska! GO BUFFS!
Community Art Day
Sunday, September 24, 2023 | 10 am - 4 pm
Head down to 13th Street between Canyon and Arapahoe to experience various FREE participatory art activities provided by local community groups!
Check out the following:
- Boulder Open Studios Mobile Art Lab will be doing an art activity and artist demonstrations.
- Street Wise Arts will be providing an artivism button making activity and inviting participation in a community-created mural project.
- BMoCA will be doing a hands-on art activity in the street.
- Local artist Edica Pacha will be doing an iteration of her community wheat paste project to gather thoughts on Boulder Social Streets. This project is a part of the Experiments in Public Art program within the City of Boulder's Office of Arts & Culture.
- NoBo Arts District, a local arts therapy group, and the Museum of Boulder will all have a presence.
Additionally, local artist Jennifer Chaparro will be heading the Chalk4Peace/Boulder in Color community art event with a co-created chalk mural on the Dushanbe Teahouse asphalt pad. This will be a wonderful opportunity to join your neighbors in creating an impactful work of art!
