Photographer Blair Hansen's Artist Statement: I came to photography in the 1970's as a means to express my personal experience and because of a love of "gear." I did not set out to be a portrait photographer but rather I approached my subjects with a journalistic perspective. Thus, photography became my personal way of engaging with teachers, dharma and community. It became a role that enabled me to be included in this amazing world. Now, I hope, these images will be able to transmit the luminous presence of these venerable Tibetan Buddhist teachers for current audiences.
