Stitching the Situation Collaborative Creation

Join community members and contribute to Stitching the Situation, an ongoing archive and memorial of the pandemic in the US. Project founder Heather Schulte will be giving stitching demonstrations, collecting stories to add to the project, and displaying completed panels. Materiales en español son disponible.

People Person by RIOS & Lolita’s

RIOS and Lolita’s invites visitors to celebrate the incredible and eclectic people that share our space on West Pearl. People Person is an immersive art experience filled with surprise and discovery that highlights some of the humans that come to our corner everyday.

"Portraits from the Community" Installation by Edica Pacha

The City of Boulder Office of Arts and Culture Experiments in Public Art and Social Streets collaborates with Edica Pacha to create a large scale interactive installation that engages the audience in conversations around public space in the city of Boulder.  We will create a collage of 'portraits from the community' pasted up on the street, alongside exploring the town square vibes.

"The Playwright" Interactive Sculpture by Peanut Butter Art

The Playwright is an interactive sculpture designed for the user to create their own visual narrative following a "fill-in-the-blank" story prompt. Participants will be able to touch and move sections of the sculpture to design the story they like best! What will you come up with?

Pressing Play Kindness Cart

Look for the Kindess Cart all over downtown during the festival weekend!

The Pressing Play Kindness Cart is a very portable, colorful, and playful maker’s cart and is full of little objects of wonder meant to entice the imagination of all who witness it. The Kindness Cart will travel throughout Downtown Boulder during the festival with an eclectic assortment of supplies people will use to create tangible gifts of kindness for themselves and others.

Miss Way's Pen Pals

This project provides visitors the opportunity to make their own paper creations to send to student pen pals ages PreK-12 and Senior pen pals at Boulder's Brookdale Senior Living. This is an interactive activity that showcases the inspiring artwork from our pen pals of diverse generations and background.Miss Ways Pen Pals provides social-emotional community care through pen pal letter writing and advanced technology in augmented reality.

CMA Tiny Stage

CMA's mobile stage, nicknamed Tiny and dedicated to the memory of Louise Christopher, is a community outreach vehicle which allows us to travel to interesting and unusual venues and host performances of many genres.

Akili
Experience the soulful music and inspirational lyrics of Akili Addae Obika performing as AKILMANJARO. Akili has been performing his songs and poetry for years and his music appeals to a broad range of audiences. The music inspiration for their distinctive sound comes from Akili’s extensive record collection consisting mostly of jazz, soul. Hip hop, reggae, and world music. The motivational lyrics of AKILIMANJARO are inspired by Akili’s reading on topics varying from heath to history to philosophy to spirituality.

El Centro Amistad at The New Local
