Bands on the Bricks Celebrates Pride Night on June 15

Boulder’s eight-week outdoor concert series on the Pearl Street Mall kicks off with Pride Night

Boulder, CO [June 6, 2022] –  The 26th annual Bands on the Bricks free summer concert series begins June 15 with a Pride Night celebration. Featuring a performance at 8 pm from CHEER Colorado, an all-volunteer adult cheerleading troupe working to empower the LGBTQ+ community, and information from Out Boulder, supporting LGBTQ+ communities in Boulder County and beyond with resources, advocacy, support and education, the opening night event celebrates diversity and inclusion of all in the community.

Festivities begin at 6:00 pm with opener Julia Kirkwood. This young singer-songwriter’s music merges pop with hints of folk, rock and electronica. Following Julia, Hazel Miller & The Collective takes the stage. Known for her powerful and soulful voice, Hazel Miller has performed at every Bands on the Bricks since 1997 (including the virtual Bands Above the Bricks in 2020).

Dance under the stars and celebrate Pride Night while sipping Avery Brewing Company beer, margaritas and a variety of other beverages in the expanded Beer Garden encompassing the entire 1300 block of the Mall.

Bands on the Bricks is produced by Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives (DBCI). It is co-presented by FNBO and The W.W. Reynolds Companies. The event’s sponsors are Avery Brewing Company, The Daily Camera, City of Boulder, Eco-Products and Eldorado Natural Spring Water
