Bands on the Bricks Honors Health Care Workers on June 29

Boulder’s eight-week outdoor concert series on the Pearl Street Mall celebrates the healthcare community

Boulder, CO [June 23, 2022] –  The 26th annual Bands on the Bricks free summer concert series continues on Wednesday, June 29 with Healthcare Appreciation Night. The evening offers an opportunity to express gratitude for Boulder Community Health (BCH) and all our local health care workers. Attendees can fill out a small tribute card to the health care worker in their family, neighborhood and throughout Boulder. These beautiful notes will be hung on a newly planted tree outside BCH in honor of their year-long Centennial celebration. Throughout the year, BCH health care workers can see the notes on this unique tree.

Festivities begin at 6:00 pm with opener Soul Medicine, made up of BCH health care workers. “We opted for this name because our band members are committed to healing, and tending to the mind, body and soul of our patients, our community and one another,” said Sharna Rose, a band representative. “We wanted a name that reflects the healing power of music and the importance of community. Soul Medicine has been a place of refuge, joy and letting go during this time.”

Following Soul Medicine, Chimbangle takes the stage at 7 pm. A Denver-based Venezuelan Latin music band, Chimbangle is brand-new to Bands on the Bricks.

Dance under the stars and celebrate the healthcare community while sipping Avery Brewing Company beer, margaritas and a variety of other beverages in the expanded Beer Garden encompassing the entire 1300 block of the Mall. Health care workers can present an ID at the drink ticket tent and receive their first drink for free from 5:30 - 7:30 pm!

Bands on the Bricks is produced by Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives (DBCI). It is co-presented by FNBO and The W.W. Reynolds Companies. The event’s sponsors are Avery Brewing Company, The Daily Camera, City of Boulder, Eco-Products and Eldorado Natural Spring Water
