Hey downtown, it’s me again! And this week I have a super fun idea…
As a college senior (graduating this May!), I am always looking for both fun and affordable ways to enjoy downtown Boulder. So this week, I put together a budget-friendly afternoon for you to Love the Local. Let’s get into it…
Kick off your afternoon at Bitty & Beau’s for a delicious pick-me-up! My personal go-to is their iced vanilla latte that typically rings in around a budget-friendly $7 (including gratuity). Not a fan of coffee? Fear not, tea lovers and those seeking other exciting beverages, their menu is filled with teas, unique specialty drinks and everything in between. It's the perfect place to fuel up with a smile and a fantastic drink to start the afternoon.
While sipping on your tasty drink…enjoy the self-guided Walking Mural Tour! This is your chance to discover the vibrant street art scene that adds so much character to downtown’s charm. I love seeing the creative side of Boulder and leave feeling inspired! The interactive Google Map provides three convenient walking tours to choose from, or feel free to create your own artistic expedition.
Don't let the artistic journey end with the murals! Continue your exploration of downtown's creative spirit by stepping inside Ana’s Art Gallery. Here, you can immerse yourself in a different artistic environment while discovering curated collections from across the globe and perhaps finding a new favorite artist.

After getting your steps in, fuel up at T/ACO where tacos are under $7 each. It's the ideal way to keep your budget on track while indulging in some seriously good food. My favorite taco has got to be the carnitas. Check out their menu to find one that fits you best. Or… if you’re on the go and want something to eat while exploring, stop by Freddie’s Hot Dog Stand. I am no stranger to these hot dogs, I grab one almost every time after a night out! I even grabbed one while writing this blog…
Finally, for the perfect ending to your downtown Boulder-filled afternoon, head over to Into The Wind, also known as Colorado’s Largest Kite Store. It's a fantastic place to find a souvenir to cherish your lovely day or a fun craft to enjoy later. Keep an eye out for their adorable animal figures – I'm still hoping to start a collection inspired by the little one I received as a gift!
There you have it – a perfect afternoon in downtown Boulder that won't break the bank. Go enjoy it and I’ll see you next week! - Frankie
