Happy almost St. Patrick’s Day downtown!

This week, I've put together a guide to some of the local holiday happenings downtown to help you to celebrate St. Patty’s Day the best way possible, by exploring downtown and discovering some festive finds along the way.Whether you have Irish heritage or not, St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday that everyone can celebrate, especially in such an inclusive and vibrant place like downtown Boulder.

To kick things off, Odd Fellows Hall is hosting the World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 14, 2026, at 12 p.m. at 16th and Pearl Streets. This free parade starts at 12 p.m. sharp in the street, rain or shine, and the festivities actually begin earlier with doors to Odd Fellows Hall opening at 10 a.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door, and the celebration will also include live music from Avourneen playing at 1 p.m. and Cry Huntress playing at 3:30 p.m. It’s one of those uniquely Boulder traditions that brings the community together and makes for a fun and festive way to celebrate the holiday.

If you’re looking to keep the Irish spirit going, the Pearl Street Pub is a great place to stop by and soak in the holiday energy. With its lively atmosphere and classic pub feel, it’s the perfect place to meet up with friends, grab a drink, and really feel those St. Patrick’s Day vibes right in the heart of downtown. The West End Tavern is also throwing a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration March 12th-March 17th featuring live Irish dancers and festive holiday drink specials.

For those who want to celebrate in a less traditional way, you can head over to the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art for a Free Salsa Class on Tuesday March 17th, from 6:30-8 p.m. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just want to try something new with friends, it’s a fun way to keep the energy going into the evening.

If you’re feeling creative, you can also stop into Color Me Mine, where they have a variety of shamrock-shaped pottery pieces ready for you to paint for the holiday. Walk-ins are welcome, making it an easy and festive activity to add to your downtown plans.

If you are looking to fully embrace the color of the day, Pedestrian Shop has plenty of green to help you get into the festive spirit and find all the St. Patrick’s Day accessories you might need.

As always, one of the best ways to celebrate is simply by taking a stroll downtown. Between the shops, restaurants, and the iconic rainbow crosswalks, downtown Boulder already feels like a place where you just might stumble upon the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Whether you’re catching the parade, stepping into a local pub, getting creative with some pottery painting, or just exploring downtown with friends, there are plenty of ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and enjoy everything downtown Boulder has to offer.

Stay lucky downtown,

Ava
