“Something evil’s lurkin’ from the dark...cause this is THRILLER, thriller at night!” - One of the greatest Halloween songs (Thriller by Michael Jackson of course)!

This Thursday is HALLOWEEN! Some (aka me) would arguably call this the best holiday of the year! With a spooky feeling in the air, candy galore and eye-catching costumes - how could someone not love Halloween. Well, I have some news for you, downtown Boulder is full of EXCITING things for the holiday - be ready to pick and choose from a wide variety of Halloween parties...

First up is Jungle's Zombie Island Halloween Party. If you haven’t heard of Jungle, it’s an awesome Tiki-themed bar at 2018 10th street whose mission is to: “make cocktails fun again.” Their Halloween party happens from 4 pm to 2 am on Thursday serving up cocktails all evening long. Did someone say SPOOKY?!! Since this is a Tiki Bar, their zombie staff will provide you with pineapples instead of pumpkins for carving. They will also showcase their newest Zombie cocktail just for the holiday! Admission to the party is free, and you only have to pay for their fun food and drinks.

Next up is Tahona Tequila Bistro. They are having a costume/dance party on Halloween night with a DJ starting at 9 pm. This sure sounds like fun, and they have amazing chips and salsa! Also, since this is a costume party, you should aim for BEST COSTUME! So be sure to check out this blog about where to get the perfect costume in downtown Boulder! (hint hint… it’s at The Ritz) ;)

Another festive party happening on the 31st is at Centro Mexican Kitchen. Their party is a celebration of Dia De Los Muertos - and this party is happening ALL weekend! Starting on Thursday at 6 pm Centro will have sugar skull mask painting, piňatas on the patio and fortune telling by Zoltar. On Friday, November 1st, they will feature a family-style feast with special food and drink like carne asada fajitas and a parrillada platter. Lastly, they will have a Resurrection Brunch on Saturday, November 2nd. There is no excuse for not stopping at Centro this weekend for some Day of the Dead fun!

Lastly, there are some other parties and events happening on Thursday: Bohemian Biergarten is having a Halloween party of their own and Eureka has a new “Flesh and Blood” cocktail for Halloween (it has an eyeball in it!) BUT if you do have evening plans, earlier in the day is Munchkin Masquerade in downtown Boulder from 3 pm to 6pm, where your little ones can go trick-or-treating! :) SO much to do!

Also, be sure to check out Kilwin’s and their Halloween treats… I spy monster chocolate-covered pretzel sticks that look oh so delicious!

Keep Calm and Scary On,

Intern Alicia
