Art experts use x-rays to reveal hidden aspects of underpaintings of classic paintings by artists such as Picasso, Rembrandt, and Vermeer. Colorado painter Clint Eccher invented a method of painting that uses LED lights behind his paintings to not only make the underpaintings visible but to also have them interact with the overpainting as the lights change colors and other aspects of the painting. R Gallery in Boulder will be holding a solo show of Eccher’s work from October 4 - November 12. The opening reception, which will be held on October 5 from 5:30-9 p.m., will include live music and a drawing for free prints of Eccher’s work.
