Color Me Mine

Lisa and Sandy with family outside store

It’s never too late to pursue a dream. When Lisa Fairlee and Sandy Hahn purchased Color Me Mine in 2016, they wanted to show their children that anything is possible. Both of their kids had a strong love for art and the best friends had talked for a long time about becoming business owners together. The dream quickly became a reality when the love for art and the opportunity to own a business came together.

Color Me Mine has been open on the East End of Pearl Street since 2000, and it has been home to Lisa and Sandy for the past five years. “Personally, I have always had a huge belief in building one's community up around yourself, and in turn, that community quickly becomes family. Buying a small business has allowed that to happen. So many guests have become friends. It's truly amazing! I get to watch guests' little ones grow up right before my eyes. A day at the studio never feels like work,” said Lisa.

Pearl Street’s East End has been the perfect location for the two friends to work and build connections. “We consider ourselves so lucky to be a part of the Boulder community. Downtown Boulder  - and Boulder in general -  is so iconic! It has that small town feel with that city flare,” said Lisa.

Color Me Mine provides the space and supplies for people to express their creativity with friends and family. Select a ceramic piece, select paint colors and get to work on your own unique ceramic creation. “We are so happy that we can have guests back in the studio! The studio feels alive again,” said Lisa.

The best ways to support Lisa and Sandy are to paint - either in the studio or with a to-go kit. Share positive online reviews and keep up with all the latest ceramic news by following their social media (@cmmboulder). “Continue to put happy vibes out there for all the small businesses in Boulder who are continuing to overcome some of the biggest obstacles the last two years have created. We couldn't do it without all of the support of the Boulder community.”

No matter where you are in life, dreams can always be achieved. Lisa and Sandy made a commitment to follow their hearts and set an example for their children by taking over Color Me Mine. Visit them in the studio or peruse a wide variety of events, techniques and more online
