Every Day is a Holiday in Downtown Boulder

I don’t know about you, but I am more than ready for this holiday season! I have already had plenty of rich hot cocoa and have worn thick fuzzy socks ever since snow first hit the ground in Boulder! With this change in season, I’m ready for some holiday events. Good news for me (and you)... downtown Boulder has a WHOLE list of festive events starting soon.

Switch on the Holidays takes place November 24 at 5 pm on the 1300 Block of the Pearl Street Mall. This event will be an exciting start to the season with Santa flipping the switch to illuminate the holiday lights throughout downtown. Mrs. Claus and downtown’s very own Freezie the Snowman will also make an appearance!

St. Nick on the Bricks kicks off on Friday, November 29 then every Saturday from November 30 - December 21 from 11 am to 2 pm. Kids of all ages can visit Santa at the Downtown Boulder Visitor Information Center at 1303 Pearl Street. Pictures are encouraged so don’t forget your cameras! The Snowflake Express (100% electric Tebo Train) will give free rides for children during St. Nick on the Bricks. It boards in front of Capital One Café. I wouldn’t miss this opportunity if you have little ones!

Snow Much Fun produced by the City of Boulder happens December 6 from 5 to 7 pm in the Civic Area. Throughout the holiday season MORE than 275,000 stunning LED lights will cover the trees in Central Park making it an ideal location for selfies and family photo ops. For more details about Snow Much Fun visit SnowMuchFun.org.

December 7 is the Lights of December Parade starting at 6 pm. The parade starts at 15th and Walnut streets and finishes at 15th and Spruce streets. The parade features decorated floats from local businesses, churches, schools and civic groups. There are adorable scout troops, members of the one and only Thursday Night Cruiser Ride and even an appearance by Santa!

Freezie Fest takes place on December 14 from 11 am to 3 pm on Pearl Street Mall and beyond. The event celebrates all things winter and snowmen! Enjoy train rides, visits with Santa and Freezie (our very own snowman mascot), and craft activities/free Reindeer games. There will also be the opportunity to win Downtown Boulder gift cards during Freezie Fest when you Find Freezie in participating downtown businesses! Go to FindFreezie.com for details! All these events sound like a jolly good time to me!

You’ll have to let us know how YOU plan to spend the holiday season and be sure to tag us @downtownboulder on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook if you attend any of our spectacular holiday events! I can’t wait to take in all of the gorgeous holiday lights myself ...of course with a nice steaming hot chocolate in hand!

Seasons Greetings,

Intern Alicia
