Well - we made it...2020 is almost over and while January 1st won’t look all that different (hello pandemic), the metaphoric clean slate is MUCH needed after a tough year.
My New Year’s Eve celebration is looking much quieter than in years past but after a hectic nine months, I'm a little excited to celebrate low key. If you want some suggestions, read on!
Even though I’ll be celebrating at home, a new outfit seems like a must have to start the year in style. This cute mini dress from Weekends or this sweater dress from Free People will be perfect for when I want to put real clothes on (there’s a 60/40 chance this year ;) ). If I’m feeling sweats - the more likely option - I think I’ll pick up this cozy set from Island Farm or these joggers from Go Far Shop.
For a special NYE dinner, I want to try one of downtown’s newest options. The Shroomami Warm Bowl from sweetgreen looks delicious and healthy or I’ll get the Roasted Chicken Banh Mi from Daikon on the West End. For dessert, I’m going to pick up this Truffle Assortment Box from Kilwins. They look delish and will go perfect as a midnight toast with champagne from West End Wine Shop. I’ll be watching the Times Square Ball Drop on this live stream.
As for activities, walking around Snow Much Fun is at the top of my list. The holiday lights are so beautiful and since I’ll be downtown picking up dinner, I might as well enjoy the beauty. I want to start the year with some self care, so I’ll be picking up a bath bomb and face mask from Lush. I’m also going to grab some board games from Art Source and a puzzle from Liberty Puzzles to entertain myself once I’m home. I might even explore my artistic side with a take home kit from Color Me Mine.
All in all, it’s shaping up to be a pretty great end of year even though I’ll be celebrating safely at home.
Happy New Year! Let’s do this, 2021.
