Pearl Street Arts Fest!

Category: Boulder Blog

Hi downtown,

It was a colorful couple of days here in downtown with the Pearl Street Arts Fest that happened last weekend. I hope you were able to find time to swing by and check it out! For this blog, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite pictures that I captured.

This oil pastel drawing stood out to me with its vibrant color and mountain town-like feel. The small houses nestled in bright hills capture the cozy, storybook vibe of mountain life while using exaggerated colors to feel dreamlike. Looking at it makes me feel at home, and if I owned a mountain house, this would be a picture I’d put above my stone fireplace.

I will say, I’m a sucker for vibrant artwork that catches my eyes right away. This is why I love these small paintings. Going off the themes of Colorado, mountains, and the great outdoors, these pictures advertise adventure and the addictive get-lost-in-nature energy that colorful Colorado is known for. I love how the Flatirons were front and center, and if I’m being honest, it took me a good minute to realize it was a painting and not in fact a picture taken by a professional!

Right off the bat, what caught my eye about this artist's metalwork was the creative use of recycled items. By far my favorite piece was a flower that had golf club irons for stems! I mean, how talented is an artist to not only create that idea, but execute it so well that it looks like a flower petal and not an oddly placed nine iron?! Hats off to Mike for his environmentally friendly art and creative vision!

What's better than having a cute purse? Having a cute purse that no one else has, and when you’re asked where you got said cute purse, you can brag that it's from a local artist who hand-makes all her bags. That's what ran through my head as I checked out Kerry Manley’s tent. The patterns and cute colors say it all, and the fact that they’re from a small business is even better.

With talent from near and far, the Pearl Street Art Fest was the place to find all different types of beautiful art, everything from handcrafted wooden cutting boards and funky stickers to pastel landscapes. With so many unique varieties of art, it’s impossible to choose just one award winner, so each year a panel of judges awards artists in the show through a variety of categories: Best 2D, Best 3D, Best Functional Art, and Best of Show. Make sure to check out who this year's winners are!  Then, save the date for the Pearl Street Arts Fest 2026 - you won’t want to miss it!

Till next time,
Wylie
