Pearl Street's OG Businesses

Category: Boulder Blog

Post Date: Thursday, July 27, 2017

Just six days into the month of August, the Pearl Street Mall will be turning forty! The Mall is a lively and continuously evolving attraction, and it is only right that we pay tribute to some of the businesses that have blessed the Pearl Street Mall and the blocks adjacent for the duration of its forty years. This blog is to pay tribute tribute and to remind our readers of the ones who have been with us since the beginning!

The Ritz
Since 1977, this has been Boulder's one-stop-shop for the most eccentric apparel from a far away dream land. This place is a costume store like no other. You may come in with a quick purchase in mind but find yourself lost for hours, exploring their sea of novelties and extravagant clothing!

El Loro Jewelry & Gifts
El Loro is a shop that offers beautiful, artisanal jewelry and gift items from around the world. They feature an incredibly unique selection of sterling silver and semi-precious stone jewelry. Outside of the realm of jewelry, you will also find great accessories and home decor. Stop by and find yourself greeted with warmth and exuberance from their incredibly helpful staff members. They've been a mainstay on the mall for locals and visitors since 1977!

Peppercorn

This is a super store for gourmet goods and all things kitchen and food related. They carry caviar, apricot body lotion and everything in between, they literally have it all! This place is like a toy store for anyone remotely interested in cooking. All the options for marmalades, seasonings and cookware is overwhelming, but in the best way possible. No wonder they've been around for so long!

Eight Days A Week Imaging & Copy Center

The first ones to have a color copier in Boulder, Eight Days A Week began selling sandwiches and juice along with providing people with copy making needs. Today they are a full service digital imaging, printing and copying service that fulfills the many needs of their customers.

Salute to those businesses who have stood the test of time and continue to serve the good people who frequent the Pearl Street Mall! This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of businesses who have been serving Pearl Street for 40+ years, and we hope for many more years to come.

We'd also like to give a shout out to other long standing businesses:
