An Evening Downtown with The Little Jewel
Darlene Brown opened the The Little Jewel on the Pearl Street Mall in 1979. Her daughter, Dianna Cahalan, and her son Dane are now the owners. Dianna's interests include traveling to new places, trying all the new restaurants downtown, hiking, and enjoying walks on the Boulder Creek Path.
Our store is situated by the play rocks and we love to see kids & parents enjoying time on the mall. If I’m going out to a show downtown, I always start the night with drinks at The Corner Bar. Then dinner at Bramble and Hare is a must.
The Boulder Theater is my go-to for a good show. The historic theater is beautiful! The Boulder International Film Festival is held there every year, which is a great festival to attend. In the summertime, I like to attend Bands on the Bricks on Wednesday evenings.
My favorite Pearl Street busker is Ibashi-i - the man is an amazing contortionist and can fold himself into a small box! His act is always entertaining and fun. A perfect evening downtown ends with a sweet treat at Gelato Boy on the mall.
