So Long 2021…Cheers to 2022!

Category: Boulder Blog

Post Date: Tuesday, December 21, 2021

We have officially made it…through another year of uncertainty, adaptation and taking work calls while wearing pajama pants. But we’ve also experienced a year of advancements, reunions and causes for joy. While 2021 was not necessarily the clean slate we all longed for, it is deserving of a lot of reflection and celebration. Here’s to hoping you sharpened your sourdough baking skills and hugged close family and friends in the past 12 months!

As businesses continue to adapt to ongoing changes in the pandemic, stay up to date with the latest safety measures on our Visit Safe page. With masks in hand, come downtown this year and raise a glass to all the unknowns and adventures that await in 2022!

If you are looking to celebrate in a more relaxed setting, check out Friday Night Jazz at the Hotel Boulderado. Sip on a cocktail while listening to the smooth sounds of saxophones in the hotel lobby. If you want to ring in the new year over a classy meal with someone special, head to Frank’s Chophouse for a decadent New Year’s Eve Dinner for Two. Cheers over lobster bisque and baked Alaska!

More of a party person? Don’t worry - there are plenty of options to dance your way into 2022! Enjoy music from DJ Styles Davis and food and drink specials from Centro Mexican Kitchen, then pop over to Avanti Boulder for more small bites and fun tunes from DJ Musa. Looking for a themed event? Check out Supermoon’s New Year’s Eve Super Space Disco Party. Wear your best intergalactic space gear and partake in a complimentary champagne toast at midnight!

And if you are more like me and looking for an option in between jazz and disco, head to Rosetta Hall for creative cocktails and upbeat music. Wherever you are, grab a champagne flute and celebrate having conquered 2021 (we know, it wasn’t always easy).

If you really want to ring in the new year in style, head to the St. Julien (with your proof vaccination) for their Masquerade Ball! Enjoy some Salsa dancing with Quemando in the ballroom.  There will be a Bossanova/Brazilian dance party in the Great Room and Jazz in Jill's! In additon, guests will dine at five global food stations and enjoy libations at four cocktail bars. The fun goes from 8 pm to 1:30 am.  Ticket price:  $149 (plus tax) per adult. There are also room packages available at $599 and includes two tickets to the Ball! Call the hotel’s Concierge at (720) 406-8208 to secure your tickets or a reserve a room package here.

Traditionally, the new year represents a time to reflect, to change and to move forward. While all those are commendable things, I also encourage you to maintain the consistency that has gotten you through the past few years. For me, that means treating myself to honey lattes from Savannah Bee Company and getting an extra scoop whenever I’m at Gelato Boy. And this year, I plan on enjoying a safe night out downtown on New Year’s Eve!

From all of us at the Downtown Boulder Partnership, Happy New Year! Bring it on, 2022.
