City of Boulder EcoPass
The EcoPass is an annual RTD (Regional Transportation District) transit pass for unlimited regional, express, local bus and light rail service throughout the Denver and Boulder areas.
The RTD MyRide app allows you to ride for free on all RTD services seven days a week as long as you are an eligible employee. This includes local buses, express buses, regional buses, SkyRide service to and from Denver International Airport (DEN), the "N" to Eldora Mountain ski resort, all Community Transit Network buses like the HOP, SKIP, JUMP, BOUND, DASH, STAMPEDE and BOLT and all call-n-ride services.
Who qualifies for the Employee EcoPass Program?
- Businesses within the Central Area General Improvement District (CAGID) and/or the Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District (BID) Area tax district or the University Hill General Improvement District (UHGID), with at least a six month commercial lease, are included in the City of Boulder Community Vitality Commercial District Sponsored Employee EcoPass Program.
- Businesses outside of the CAGID/Downtown BID/University Hill districts, may elect to join the program and provide an EcoPass to their employees. Check with your office manager to see if your business is enrolled.
- In the downtown and University Hill program:
- Any employee on payroll within the business location is eligible for this transit program (includes part-time, seasonal and full time staff and interns).
- Currently enrolled CU or Naropa students, contract employees and unpaid volunteers are ineligible for the MyRide Ecopass.
RTD has transitioned from EcoPass cards to digital passes in the MyRide mobile app. For current and future EcoPass benefits, the City of Boulder needs an email for each person requesting a pass. Additionally, all those requesting a pass need to create a MyRide account using the same email address provided. Authorized signers for each business will please send an email message to DowntownEcoPass@bouldercolorado.gov to include the email address(es) for any current or new employees wishing to receive their free transit benefit.
