In this class you will learn all the ins and outs of the ancient technique of pearl knotting. We will cover what tools are needed to knot pearls, an overview of the different types of pearls on the market, the difference between silk and nylon knotting, thread and stone sizing, various closure options, and lots of tips and tricks along the way! We will leave class with a knotted necklace using rice-shaped freshwater pearls and sterling or gold-filled findings.

All tools and materials will be included in the class. You will leave with special pearl knotting pliers and a necklace or bracelet of your choice!

Samantha Chang is a jeweler and artist who lives by the quote "a candle loses nothing by lighting another candle." Teaching jewelry and sharing her passion for wearable art is a core value that Samantha lives by. She taught her first jewelry making class at the age of 15, and hasn't stopped since.

In Samantha's classes, you can expect to learn every trick and tip to mastering a new technique, while leaving with a project you'll be proud to say: "i made this!"

Samantha has a jewelry line & Etsy shop that she works on night & day when she's not teaching. On her off days, you'll find her shopping locally & thrifting her next favorite outfit, playing with her dogs, or working on the never-ending home DIY projects.
