The Pearl Street Arts Fest Returns for Its 43rd Year on the Pearl Street Mall

Boulder's premier arts festival featuring close to 100 arts happens July 14-16, 2023

Boulder, CO [June 26, 2023] – The 2023 Pearl Street Arts Fest kicks off on Friday, July 14 from 3 - 8 pm with close to 70% of the participating artists ready to share their talents/works and continues with the full program on Saturday, July 15 from 10 am - 7 pm and Sunday, July 16 from 10 am - 5 pm. Over 95 artists will travel from all over Colorado, plus 21 other U.S. states, to exhibit and sell pieces. This year’s festival will be judged by a panel, including local artist Adderly Grant-Lord, Kim Kleinjan from R Gallery and others. The panel will be awarding awards for Best of Show, Best 2D, Best 3D and Best Functional Art.

Attendees will be able to peruse a wide variety of art mediums including: sculptures, up-cycled materials, handcrafted wood, furniture, paintings in acrylic, oil and watercolors, ceramics, jewelry, photography and glass in styles ranging from abstract to impressionistic and functional to decorative.

In addition to artisan booths, Open Studios Mobile Art Lab will bring on-site art instruction and inspiration to students of all ages at the art activity tent Saturday and Sunday from 10 am - 3 pm on the Courthouse Lawn.

“The Pearl Street Arts Fest has been a downtown tradition since the late 70s - and remains one of the oldest arts festivals in the state,” said Anna Salim, VP of Operations & Programming for Downtown Boulder. “We are thrilled to bring it back for the 43rd year to share this incredible art with the community.”

This year’s commemorative poster is titled Honey Comb by Taylor Clendennan. A limited edition signed and numbered print (8 x 10  for $22) will be on sale at Art Source International (1237 Pearl Street) and at the artists booth just outside the store.

While downtown, explore the over two dozen arts and crafts galleries that call Boulder home as well as the Boulder Alley Gallery. The alley project re-purposes back-of-building doors into an outdoor artist gallery featuring the works of local talent.

Admission to the festival itself is free. Every Saturday and Sunday, City of Boulder Parking Garages are also free. A parking valet, sponsored by Kaiser Permanente will be available all three days of the event on 13th Street, just north of the Pearl Street Mall.  Information can be found online at PearlStreetArtsFest.com.
